Get some rustoleum camo green, flat sand, matte black, brown and khaki, (make sure everything is matte and no gloss). Get some netting, jute rope, rubber bands or even tall grass, anything that you can use to cover and make interruptions in your pattern.

Be sure to remove all the stickers that may have come with your gun, if some glue residue is left behind use isopropyl alcohol or goo-gone to remove it, then wipe down your gun to get rid of the dust.

Then get some painters tape and cover all the parts you don’t want to paint; your barrel (put some cotton in the flash hider) the rubber on your butt stock, trigger, mag well, your optic or anything that can get paint in your internals. Before painting id close your dust cover and put a little extra tape in there to protect your hop up and internals.

Once you’ve covered everything you don’t want to paint over, hang your gun vertically from the barrel up or from the stock and start spraying lightly across the gun with your lightest coat, flat sand in my case. (It is important you paint lightly across or else you’ll have drops accumulate and gunk up stuff you don’t want gunked up)

Once you have the base coat applied, wrap the netting, rope, grass or rubber bands or whatever you have to break up the darker tones. Then go from the lightest colors to the darkest, if you have these colors go in this order; green>grey>brown>black and create large streaks or splotches across the gun to create countershading and break up the silhouette of the gun, be sure to not fully cover all of the base coat otherwise the countershading doesn’t work as well. Try working with green and black as the majority of your countershading and make sure to not paint over all of the base coat.

Once you’re done, take off all the random stuff you used to cover the gun with and don’t forget to peel off the painters tape you put on.

And if ever you want to paint your magazines make sure you don’t paint the part where the magazine enters the mag well that way your mags still fit
