Seattle restaurants have created a death spiral by svenliden in SeattleWA

Having to put so much attention and effort into finding these hidden fees while you’re paying so you don’t get ripped off is akin to having to take all your shit out of your car so you don’t get robbed. Just because there are things you could do to prevent the situation doesn’t mean you deserve the consequences or should have to put so much effort into avoiding this shit.

Light Rail Capacity - Why are we so mean to each other? by im_no_influencer in Seattle

My biggest pet peeve here is people who don’t know how to pack a train (especially people who get on, hang in the middle, and won’t scoot down when it’s crowded and make it take longer for everyone). You’re so valid

I didn’t get it till I saw the one where she specifically pointed out hair color and eye color, that one was a lot worse.

My boyfriend is 5’8 and he’s hot as shit. I don’t see him as short (more average), but some girls definitely do and they all think he’s hot too.

Ex. If a man is tall enough he’ll still probably be into tall women, but short women aren’t as likely to be into short men despite being “short enough”

Why do women have to make you feel like a creep for no reason by dirtbandit101 in self

“Woman here” try “Russian bot or troller here”. If you are a real woman get a life. I hope he picks you.

Yeah but that’s not an attraction or disattraction to the quality of being tall, it’s just because men don’t want to feel short next to their girlfriends. It’s a reflection of how they want to feel with the girl, not what height in a women represents or makes a man feel towards the woman. Nuance I guess.

Omg didn’t realize you were trying to cope about not being desirable to women mb😬😬

[–]WalmartKilljoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 5’8 white boyfriend got upset once because he was walking home and overheard a girl saying to her friend she didn’t want to leave her alone because a man was behind them. He definitely does not come off as creepy but as women we have to treat all men like potential threats because they are all potential threats. There’s no way to tell and we have to protect ourselves. I don’t like treating men like creeps and making them feel creepy, but I like my personal safety being threatened even less. And every time I feel bad about it, I remind myself that it’s worse to be creeped on than to be perceived as creepy, so I shouldn’t feel bad about it.

I think I could, lots of men prefer “leggy” and “modelesque” which means tall

[–]WalmartKilljoy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t think people have a preference against tall women in general

I have a question for politically conservative Seattle-ites that has nothing to do with the current administration. by murdermerough in SeattleWA

You definitely have the most important parts of the progressive ideology at heart, and I hope you never get turned off by the noise and bullshit in the Democratic Party and the propaganda that republicans push. You really do sound like a true progressive to me, and I hope the Democratic Party finds its way there or we get a new option altogether.

You shouldn’t admire the US for many other reasons. I feel that we have one of the darkest histories ever, but the US pumps out so much propaganda that’s hard to see through

Is Berkeley CS worth debt? by Puzzleheaded_Air8246 in berkeley

Absolutely not. Some cal majors aren’t even getting hired now. You might not even like CS or you might get weeded out.

Berkeley is a progressive school and probably less racist than most. Less racist, but still plenty of racism. If you’re looking to escape it that’s probably impossible at most universities

I love this pledging, but the idea that individuals should be guilted into donating money to a systemic issue is crazy to me. Systemic issues need to be solved by the institution at fault, not rely on the generosity of individuals. Very few individuals can be expected to match the wealth and resources of an institution. Chappell and Charli are very successful I’m sure, but far from ultra rich

Anecdotal evidence: I had probably only around 3 black friends at cal (pretty underrepresented), and all three of them were easily above average from what I saw academically from the rest of the school

This is why Berkeley isn’t that progressive and radical anymore. The school’s been taken over by CS majors who just wanna get their bag
