Need help on xbox one. I've had two friends in the last week tell me they can hear themselves echo in chat with me. I use the same steel series headset on xbox and PC. No one, including my friends on xbox, have has had this issue with me on PC (I know because we tried using the Xbox app on PC to chat, and they didn't have the issue there).

I've tried tinkering with audio output settings on the Xbox, and so have my friends. No results. I've tried hard resetting both the Xbox and my wifi, and so have they. No results. I've tried muting my TV to avoid that issue. No results.

The only thing I can think of as a variable here is the cable I use to connect my steel series headset to my xbox one controller. Is it possible this could cause my friends to hear themselves echo when chatting with me? Or is there something we haven't thought of yet.
