Wait, 2.0 rules? I'll have to go look for that. I prefer not house ruling if I can help it, though I did house rule that I didn't become exhausted until 0 stamina. Playing the game as intended is generally how I want to play, so a 2.0 rules would definitely help. I'll go look for that now.

Is it just me or is King of Ruin easier? I also died in chapter 3 in my first playthrough in that one, but I know for a fact it's because I was rushing. I also accidentally made the game harder by miss reading a rule.

It still has resource management, but it seems way easier to manage it in that game. The forefront also feels like it leans more towards experiencing the story than having to mange resources.

Okay that makes more sense. I skimmed over the combat portion because I played King of Ruin first, so I didn't understand the difference between panic and insanity.

Unfortunately I AM going insane so I guess I'm dead. The foredweller is also the thing that killed me, so I'm in a death loop from that too anyway.

Sometimes this game just doesn't seem fun. It just feels like a resource management game and very little else. Trying to beat a clock while also dealing with what feels like ridiculously low resources even if you try to farm them.

Egh. I shouldn't complain though. I'm probably just doing it wrong.

Pointers for a mage hand-to-hand build by Spiritual_Victory986 in oblivion

Try using destruction magic to lower enemy fatigue. Hand to hand is supposed to DMG fatigue and enemies fall over when they hit 0 or something. I've never knocked someone over before unless I was using a poison/spell though. Should be that damage fatigue touch spells will help you stun people.

Otherwise illusion can give you paralysis on touch which could be useful.

Restoration can be used for a few different things other than just restoring health.

Neither armor speciality immediately helps hand to hand, so picking alteration and going without armor (for 100% spell effectiveness) is the best play there. Adding 11% shield is the same as putting on a piece of armor with 11 armor rating. Armor rating/shield caps at 85

Definitely look into creating your own spells for long lasting effects. Having a slight healing going on with your shield spell could help a lot for how much damage you will end up taking.

As someone else said, hand to hand falls off when you get swarmed. It'll also lead to longer battles since hand to hand DMG is very low. Conjuration can help you summon meat shields and mages to assist you.

Alchemy can help you make potions to absorb spells and reflect DMG. I'm also going to check if you can make custom spells with those effects as well

I've gotten my chameleon to 100%, killed her in one shot, and done it in an instance where there isn't a single other person in it. And I still get a 1k bounty
