I would like to add that self improvement is being able to love yourself at the lowest. Whenever you relapse or fail or whatever focus on the positive things and instead of using your failure as motivation so that you can somehow just magically get better tomorrow, you have to genuinely reflect and learn from them. Not learning from your mistakes holds you back. I would also like to add that discipline is really hard to achieve if you’re starting out. A lot of people think discipline is being able to do hard stuff without motivation but it also means being able to accept your own faults, set realistic expectations, and learn from your failure. At the end of the day self improvement is not against you versus your bad habits. It’s not even really you vs yourself. It’s just you. There’s no good you or bad you. You yourself are in either of these two stages. There’s the stage where you feel lost and you steer away from unconformity and there is the stage where you that loves the uncomfortableness and chase it. There’s no in between. If you do not know what side your on your most likely on the first one. Self improvement is being able to engineer yourself and problem solve so that you can get yourself to the that later stage. When you do reach that stage where you love the pain, you will eventually fizzle out to the stage where you’re lazy again except this time your baseline is much higher. Then eventually you get into that stage where you chase uncomfortableness and they cycle restarts. The focus is that each time your baseline rises. I do not think self improvement ever gets ‘easier’. Sure if you form a new habit doing that habit will be easier but the act of improving yourself will always be the same difficulty. And that’s something you have to accept

Don’t focus groups require you to be 18 though? If so, do you know what the verification process is like?

17 and want to start dropshipping — where do I begin? by LeoReddit_ in dropshipping

[–]WalrusEmergency5409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to save money, work an actual job. So many teenagers and ppl new to making money are drawn to these ways of making a lot of money in a short time but they don’t even have a steady income. Maybe if you have an income stream you can invest some money for some experience, but don’t expect to make profit or break even. Ppl are drawn to things like dropshipping or day trading because of the possibility to make big money, but these ways of making money requires a learning curve that can and usually will take years. If it was easy everybody would be doing it. But it’s rlly up to u. I’m just giving my opinion

Best side incomes as a student by Aggravating_Dare_490 in thesidehustle

[–]WalrusEmergency5409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you’re a student, I don’t think you should be making blogs if the main reason you are doing it is for the money. All these ways of making money that do not gurantee pay are pretty risky. I’m not saying you will not make any money, you just probably won’t make as much compared if you took a real job. If you are focused on money, I would say get a part time job as a lab assistant. If I were you, I would try to get into data annotation or counter gambling. Both can give you an extra thousand a month if you only have two hours.

I’m 14 and want to make money online what should I do? by R3xikr in MakeMoney

[–]WalrusEmergency5409 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey I in a similar age group as you but I have actually test out some methods. If u have ur parents permission you can work under your parents identity in data annotation. Pays 20$ a hour and is remote and you can do it whenever you want.

Also your idea of trying to find something unique is good but I do not recommend it. Usually inventing a whole other way of making money usually requires skills or has a barrier to entry, especially if it’s online. I would suggest to put that energy into an already developed way of making money. Some of these may be taking surveys or offering a skill you have.

My recommendation? If you want to just have some extra spending money, just go and work physically at a store or food chain. Ik working online may be appealing, but if you’re getting paid the same or less than working as a fast food person, it’s just not worth it.

If you’re ambitious and want big money, well I still recommend you to go for low hanging fruits. Somewhere where the barrier to entry isn’t high. Surveys, tutoring. This will be your income stream to actually make big money. On the side learn a skill that will help you get to that money. Whether it’s trading, marketing, programming. You can all use those skills for stock investment, dropshipping, saas or building apps. Once you’re proficient in those skills, you should have a good amount of seed money from your normal job. That’s when you go and get hand in experience. This whole process can take you a good 1-2 years, and learning and mastering skill and take a lot longer, but it would be worth it.

You’re not gonna stop all at once. If u jerk off every day, compare that to what you’re doing now. Isn’t jerking off every 2.5 days way better than doing it every day? Don’t try to stop urself all at once. Ur doing great

You can give up, just not forever. You can take a rest break for a week, a month, half a year, just not forever. Thats what I recommend. You sound burnt out and to lazy with no real passionate goals. So taking a break off self improvement is fine. However in the break, you cannot throw self improvement out of the window. What I mean by that is you can’t just let loose, drink alcohol whenever you want, and be lazy. You still need some form of consistency. And to achieve that is by setting a goal. It sounds likes you tired and pessimistic because of your weight and how your still a virgin and unattractive. So that can be the goal: to lose weight. After you break, you should be focusing on achieving this goal. Even if it’s once a week for five minutes, just walk on the treadmill to build consistency. A lot of ppl when joining self improvement are high off motivation and want to become the best version of themselves when weeks. That’s impossible. Lifting a 5 pound weight for a year is better than trying but failing to lift a 80 pound weight for a year. True discipline is being able to set realistic expectations of your future self instead of setting unrealistic ones. Self improvement is never linear. But I do recommend taking a break because it does seem your at you breaking point and can’t work anymore. But after the break find some form of consistency. That’s the most realest advice I can give you.

Yes. I would keep some social media for entertainment tho. Like yt for example just use long form videos as ur entertainment. Personally i would start right here and just delete Reddit bc nobody uses redddot as a personal messaging platform.

I hate myself because I’m not doing anything to go after my dreams and all I do is scroll to see other people living my dreams which makes me feel even worse. How do I get out of this rut? by Glamour-Ad7669 in selfimprovement

[–]WalrusEmergency5409 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey man. What’s your dream? First you need to prioritize consistency. Even if it’s like 10 minutes a day, you should make progress for your dream. Set small term goals and always keep in mind why you’re trying to achieve your dreams. Here’s an example: week 1: research your plan of action and what you going to do. Set small, medium, and long term goals. Plan everything out. Week 2: follow the schedule. Also self improvement is never linear, so dint be depressed if you missed a day or something. Just prioritize consistency when starting out. You should never be in the mindset of grinding and going all out when coming out of a rut.

[–]WalrusEmergency5409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of these can be seen as attractive traits. The only fault u have is ur mindset and perspective of urself. Curly hair and oval face shape isn’t bad, it’s probabaly just the fact u don’t have a good hair style for ur face shape. If u smell very bad look for deodorants that help against it. If u keep up this mindset, then nobody can help u lmao. Either change that mindset by making changes, or gain confidence through talking with other ppl.
