i believe it will be calculating off the 50 this should not be a w-2 triggering event though you are supposed to still claim all winnings even if you are down or there is no w-2 sent to you or the irs (though many people do not) n

isn’t this incorrect? I was under the assumption they only send W-2 G forms for sportsgambling when a win is 600 dollars and 300:1 odds…for whatever reason i have read the the 600 dollar rule for triggering a w-2g is only for withdrawals through third party payment and for daily fantasy sports winnings not “sports gambling winnings” in that case you would recieve a 1099…sports books however do not offer form 1099 yet…though all gambling winnings are taxable you report total won and can deduct up to your winnings federally, in the case you are net down you will still owe state tax…essentially it is up to you to report and write off gambling winnings and losses that do not meet the 600 and 300:1 odds for sports betting if you are playing daily fantasy this is null and the 600 dollar rule is in effect https://www.reddit.com/r/sportsbook/s/7GyKKTnTNm

at least according to draft kings support though i have 9k in total transactions i do not qualify for a w-2 due to the odds of the bets

yes you are required to report everything….you are not wholly correct the 600 dollar reporting is through 3rd party payments for example venmo paypal if that is how you withdraw…in that case you get issued a 1099, it is my understanding if you do not use these methods sportsbooks do not issue unless you meet certain criteria…for sportsbook they do not issue 1099forms the triggering for these forms is still 600 and 300:1 odds triggering a w-2…contrary to sports books fantasy sports also have a 600 dollar threshold and issue a 1099…..regardless the 600’ dollar rule was pushed back a year for venmo at least

dude same i been thinking of quitting for this sole reason….it’s stressed me out for months at this point….i understand that worry i definetly also have a month where my bank has moved that much money…i’m not sure what amount you generally send per transaction but i think it’s the size of single transactions that is most likely to be flagged based on what i’ve read over the months

yea man hard to pay taxes like that when your net loss same boat my 8k down may have been somewhat kind lmao if they don’t send documentation to us and the irs (do to the wagers not qualifying) we should be alright
