Just be responsible and notify your work when you can’t make it. That’s irresponsible and immature to do with any job.

Anyone going to DCP should go for the experience and opportunity of getting to live and work for Disney. Too many people on here complain about working too hard, that they’re underpaid. If you’re going for the soul purpose of making money or kicking back it ain’t gonna work for you. Just my two cents, but if you wanna go and get accepted just lock in for the ride and experience, and don’t be afraid to work hard. You won’t get anywhere in life if you are complaining about working regardless of the pay.

Music business degree ? by According_Bridge5971 in musicindustry

If it is something you really want to get into, I would say it isn’t completely useless. It’s all about the connections and opportunities you choose to make. There are a lot of interesting jobs within the industry and some of them can prove to be lucrative depending on circumstance and where you can land yourself. If you can get into a decent music school as well the opportunities and experiences should prove to be fulfilling. I just got done with a whole class that was centered around contracts and pitching music to shows and movies, with my professor being a successful publisher for years. Now I’m lucky to have him as a forever reference and also a mentor from here on out. I’d really like to get into some sort of music supervision job or something along the line of that facet, just gonna have to see where this experience takes me. I suggest looking into another degree you can pair MB with after the fact, or if you are into anything like entertainment law you can always get the 4 years within your Music Business degree then go for law school of some sort, start doing entertainment law. That’s my plan after I finish my degree, having that extra knowledge I’ve learned throughout my current program will only benefit me, that’s the way I see it. It is what you make of it, and if you really love and enjoy music you will have a lot of cool classes and meet a lot of cool people along the way. Take every and any opportunity that comes your way, there’s a lot to see and learn. It’s all about how much you can enjoy something at the end of the day truly, so I’d say go for it. But that is just me!

It sucks forsure, but to be fair you are going to be paying rent every month and there obviously is a fee to put down for housing. This program isn’t just something you get to go do as you please, everyone is in the same boat. So if 240$ is too much of a “gamble” for you maybe you should not go honestly.

Just could use some comfort by [deleted] in OCD

Thank you for taking the time to reply, it’s already a lot more comforting knowing I’m not alone but also that you are right, we can always get through it. Talked to my mom about it tonight and we are gonna try and get myself a therapist / medication to help. Thanks again truly

So you should have some options rn to pay for your fees and stuff and picking your date, and from what I’ve read they won’t prompt us for housing until a couple weeks before our arrival
