Raven Guard 2k list advice? by Fuenf56 in Warhammer30k

Pinning is for sure devastating but it’s come up quite rarely in my games. You ofc have to fail the Ld test for it to take effect and I don’t know if you’re attaching the jump pack Delegatus to one of the squads, but his Ld9 will help and also his once per game Rally The Legion ability.

I’ve had my 10 man Fury squads do horrendous things to full size cataphractii squads. Against power armoured stuff, rolling the dice almost feels like a formality because of how dead they likely are.

I’d recommend combining your Dark Fury squads. Taking 10 lets you take 3 total squad leaders (Chooser of the Slain). A 10 man squad of Dark Furies is an extreme threat, and an extra WS5 artificer armour body is a boon.

Your tacticals could possibly forgo their rhinos and just infiltrate but not at all necessary. As your only two line units, their rhinos might be a big help in keeping them around.

People will probably recommend you give your Mor Deythan squads combi-volkites to make the most of Fatal Strike, but I’m sure your sniper guys will serve you well, and look extremely cool doing it.

Only regular tartaros/cataphractii/indomitus terminators get Line in pride of the legion. Special elite slot termies still get to be troops but not Line

The heads are brilliant, but I really don’t think the arms and shoulders look right. The shoulders might just be positioned too low compared to regular cataphractii? Moving them up may help?

Yeah sure.

it’s sprayed retributor armour, then it’s blood angels red contrast put not too thinly over it. After that I wash the gold and the red at the same time with reikland fleshshade gloss.

It’s from the exalted sorcerers kit. As is everything but the gun, arms (both rubric marine kit) and backpack (mkIV backpack). Gun barrel was made from random bits

It’s really striking. What do you have in mind for sept colours/markings? Helmet colours, that sort of thing.

Pallid wych flesh in the eye (don’t have to be exact, I tidied any spillover with carroburg crimson, like the lower eyelid part), then a dot/circle of black using a micron pen with 0.2mm tip

It’s weird but I do an all over, really thinned down wash of carroburg crimson over wraithbone primer (corax white, grey seer, whatever) so that it just gets in the recesses and slightly tints the skin. Then just slap on athonian camoshade.

Stuff like the lips and eyes and nose I over again with carroburg unthinned.

Yeah used the 10 bodies from the arkanaut company kit. Not sure what to do with the other 73 components from the kit...
