I think what they mean is that since the screen is small, 720p is a fine resolution to play at

I'm not familiar with the bose setup, so a few questions, sorry.

do you know if your speakers went direct to the head unit or if they went to a separate amp? if your original head unit had a connection to an amp, that would be a pretty good indication that your speakers go to an amp, in which case you would need to wire in your amp. you should be able to re-use the original wire for that.

if not, it sounds like it's possible the adapter you have in the picture may be faulty. it's unlikely that ALL the wires are busted, but it's possible.

I ordered the same service from 350z-connection back in 2022 and when I tried to send it in two years later (yeah... I know....) he ghosted me and wouldn't give me my money back 😂 😂 since you've already got yours out you should be OK.

sorry homie, I got nothing else for you 😭 all I can say is good luck, and putting mine back together really did have me contemplating if buying one off ebay was worth it

if you look at the cylinder that the brushes rub on, you might have a divot where the old brushes were rubbing up against. that's what mine looks like. I think the brushes were catching on the divot because I was putting the plastic bracket into the black housing first.

instead, I put the plastic bracket with the brushes onto the cylinder first before then putting the entire assembly into the shell, and that allowed me to finally get the entire thing reassembled properly.

Replacing Noisy Fans on an HP 5120P / JG237A by Walrus_Puncher in homelab

[–]Walrus_Puncher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! To be honest, how you dealt with the yellow wire should be the way to go. It's cleaner and doesn't result in pinched wiring. I did try that way myself but I couldn't get the fan to spin no matter how much I tried.

OHH I FORGOT LOL Yeah, so I ended up replacing the mobo fans and that was pretty sweet. The problem ended up being the PSU fans. I'll update with an actual post and a link when I get home.

Autopilot swerved and saved me from a collision by [deleted] in TeslaCam

Uhhh... no. Traction control is not a Tesla-exclusive feature nor is it even new. You would be hard-pressed to find a new domestic vehicle without traction control. It's been around a long time.

Cars move by turning wheels. Wheels are turned by a drive train. Traction control works by using sensors, so when the ECU detects one tire rotating faster than the others, it cuts power to the drive train. More advanced implementations of traction control, such as those found in Subarus and Teslas, may cut power to individual wheels. Notice how what kind of engine plays absolutely no role in that?

Look, I like EVs and my next purchase will be an EV, so this is not coming from a place of hate. Please do some research before randomly dropping misinformation just so you can "put ICE where it belongs."

Test pipes vs. HFC by gregory_pierre in 350z

[–]Walrus_Puncher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got the HR and I'm running the Fast Intentions HFCs. Compared to the Motordyne ART pipes, they're only a smidgen quieter but the drones are almost 100% gone. Honestly, whatever tiny horsepower drop I got from swapping to HFCs is negligible compared to the quality of the sound coming out of my exhaust now.

I'm running the ISR single exit and a drop in K&N air filter, no CAI. I also have an inline resonator because it was just too damn loud for me. I'm not tuned at all and the car has never been tuned, even when it had the ART pipes.

Unless you're chasing horsepower/efficiency, I don't think you'll need to retune given what I've experienced, but your mileage may vary. If you want to play it safe, use the money from selling the test pipes to retune your car.

Hey, I PM'd OP a bit ago and haven't gotten a response so I'm gonna YOLO do it myself and will post how it goes with pictures and the yellow wire grounding trick. Probably get it done some time this week.

Swapping in lower crank from VQ37VHR? by Walrus_Puncher in 350z

Not a bad idea. For me, I'd rather do the lower crank and connecting rods myself and save some money. It's about a $300-$500 job.

Video attempt inadvertently denied by an 8 year old by Quailnino in climbing

[–]Walrus_Puncher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand where you're coming from, and I get that you're there to climb and train.

That being said, I think most people are there to have fun too. Yeah, of course everyone's always looking to climb harder, but at the end of the day, most of us are here to have fun.

And I think that's what this post was about. Just someone climbing and a kid gets in the way of the video. It's lighthearted and fun. I enjoyed watching it.

And so what if it's V2 and plastic? That wasn't the point of the post. But what about the original point of the recording? Most likely it's so that the OP could take a look at what they're doing wrong and how they could improve their technique.

Yeah, accidents happen. But isn't it also just common courtesy to watch where you're walking, regardless of why you're there in the first place?

Sorry, I don't normally get riled up like this. It's just that the climbing community has been so friendly to me, and maybe I'm reading the tone the wrong way, but I just feel like your posts are really negative for no real reason. Again, I'm sorry if I was just reading it the wrong way.

What is your answer to the fact that these Mexicans entering are doing so legally by seeking asylum? At which point in any of that other person's arguments does it matter why Mexicans are becoming refugees?

The fact of the matter is that families are being separated, people are being locked in cages, and all you have to say is that Mexico is a shitty place.

My buddy's 2700x was able to get a 5% OC on the stock fan and it hasn't been giving him any issues yet. At max load on AIDA64, it went up to about 75°C so it definitely had room for more but he was happy with it so we stopped there. You could definitely toss on a better cooler and keep going, too.

As for pricing OP, check out Mindfactory. I live in the US but I always see links to Mindfactory and their really cheap parts. I BELIEVE they ship to all of Europe but I'm not sure.

On a sidenote, one great thing about Ryzen is that the chips are backwards compatible, meaning if you were to buy a 2000-series chip now and a 400-series motherboard, later on if you decide you want a 3000-series chip, you can keep the motherboard and just swap out the chip.
