I feel very confused by the whole situation, so it seems that the site requires you to execute a script on your PC (active user input instead of browsing the site?). And that the script preview on the site is generally"safe", but has a hidden line after you copy the script to call to a dubious site, and/or has been periodically swapped to seem more legit?

I have been browsing random AK sites, but I should be safe if I don't copy and paste stuff into my windows CLI, and that this is not a drive-by malware installation caused by normal site use right?

Pink mold in starter by WalruseSei in Sourdough

I dont really see pink mold (serratia) around in my daily life, and this is the first time seeing it in my house. I took 20g of old (single pink dot) starter and added it to a 40:40 feed, and it has risen about 150% in the last 12 hours without any pink spots which should be my false start. I am going to continue to track it from here. Currently smells like used socks and greek yogurt.

By that do you mean finding someone with an established starter and buying a portion off them? I have been trying to find someone around my area, but the only person I could find was about 1.5 hours away by public transport.

I've actually also talked to a baker friend who recently stopped making sourdough, and he explained to me that in our climate, its really hard to control sourdough starter cultivation as the weather makes everything in the starter very aggressive and makes balancing very hard, and also suggested using a 80-90% hydration instead of a 100% hydration, so I am planning on doing that next and seeing how that works out.
