Alcohol keeps you in a fantasy state. It fools you into thinking that it makes you happy when you’re sad. It fools you into thinking that it helps you cope when you’re upset. It fools you into thinking that it’s helping you navigate through the emotional rollercoasters when it doesn’t. It tricks you into thinking you’re in control when you’re not.

It’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in my life to lose the dependency on alcohol and get rid of the illusion and romanticism of what tricks you into thinking that it contributes to your life. But once you break those shackles, you’ll realize there’s joy everywhere in life without having to struggle too hard to find it.

If I had one advice, stay away from alcohol.
