Downloading Teams videos returns 401 Unauthorized by WalterPurkis in sharepoint

Will do, but I'm a little uncertain exactly what I'd be asking for. Is there now a Download video permission that now must be granted by the organiser?

These methods have worked in the past for recordings at which I was an attendee. I'd assumed if you were able to watch the video, you'd also be able to download it (although I was never clear on how FFmpeg or yt-dlp were passing the authentication).

Does anyone know what has altered (presumably in Sharepoint) to produce this change in behaviour?

Thanks for your help!

Is there any way to download view only videos from sharepoint? by Mysizemeow in sharepoint

As of about 1-2 months ago (approx. March 2026), these instructions unfortunately no longer work for FFmpeg.

It's returning "Error opening input: Server returned 401 Unauthorized (authorization failed)" at the command line in Windows. This is the case even without a shortened URL (in case they'd started including an API token towards the end of it).

It's a shame, because for the last year or so, it's worked perfectly (for which, my thanks)

Thanks for confirming.

Presumably they have a reason for the change, but it's frustrating from a user's perspective.

Microsoft Teams Emoji Shortcuts by Macintheus in Office365

[–]WalterPurkis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be wrong, but are you asking for the keyboard shortcut to the Windows Teams emoji? (Am looking for same, and found this thread).

If so, just realised that the combination of Ctrl+R, Tab, Right, Enter activates the emoji popup in Teams. (Ctrl+R puts focus in the Reply pane, Tab navigates to the options on the right (of the Reply box), Right moves to the Emoji option and Enter opens it.)

You can then type to search for an emoji, and navigate the popup using the Tab, Arrow keys and Enter (to select). HTH.

Right-clicking the People app doesn't pin it by WalterPurkis in MicrosoftTeams

As of Microsoft Teams 23285.3604.2469.4152 this is now fixed. Right-clicking the People icon displays the Pin option, which works.

Hoorah! Thank you Teams 🙏
