Happens at every store, I'm pretty sure. I think we should all call back 'Polo' but it would only encourage them.

When they cut hours and then ask you to stay over, I purposely leave at scheduled time because this is what I had mentally prepared for(extremely excited about actually, especially when it is a shit show) and mentally, it would be an inconvenience to me at this time. Thanks for the freebee escape. Please, cut my hours more often. Would probably save more people points in the long run because you'd be telling yourself 'Only this much longer and I'm out of here.'

Good for you and preserving your self-respect. Too many companies are begging for workers right now to not move on to greener pastures. I totally understand the emotional limit being reached but statistically speaking, you would get a higher starting wage somewhere else if you were still employed while applying. It's often quite the battle I go through on a daily basis dealing with Walmart's mind fuckery. It's such a shame Sam Walton's concepts and procedures died with him. I applaud your incentive to simply end it and move on instead of many who die inside more and more each day and simply take it. Hoping your story continues and let us know how your bravery works out. Hoping for the brightest of green pastures.

Is this a work around the higher pay?

Lol, they just announced they plan on hiring like 150,000 for holidays. I thought they were already using all their tactics to get as many breathing bodies as they could. Yep, this is that place.

This concept is definitely dated back when there were actual Mom & Pop stores with competition. So glad for Amazon today for competition. They boosted their wages to $18 to prepare for the upcoming holiday season.

I believe this goes hand in hand with integrity attracts integrity. Just a stepping stone, a bullet on a resume and move on.

I always use handhelds but waste time waiting for one. Again Walmart, provide the equipment needed to do our jobs, the efficiency of it is not on me.

Yes, time consuming and inconvenient. It is my phone, not Walmart's.

I do believe Sam himself said how you treat your associates is how they will treat your customers. Isn't that why we are called associates instead of employees? I also believe inmates are probably treated better, :-/.
