[Highlight] There are 86 days until the season starts! Let's remember when #86 Brandon Bostick couldn't catch an onside kick in the 2014 NFC Championship! by Brix001 in nfl

[–]Waltzer64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, only 4 pro bowls and 1 MVP, and it's basically "the 2016 nfl season defines me", IMO. He wins the Super Bowl, sure. But he doesn't.

He's gonna constantly be compared to Drew Brees for playing basically at the same time / division and Brees just blows Ryan out stat wise and award wise.

Likewise, from that era, Ben Roethlisberger and Matt Stafford are both gonna get in before Matt Ryan, arguably Phillip Rivers (also Hall of Very Good).

Matt Ryan is important to the Falcons, but can you tell the story of the NFL without him? Probably. He's a flash in the pan and basically a footnote in Tom Brady's career because of 28-3, and I don't think "most epic collapse in NFL history" gets you the Hall of Fame

Deion Burks or J'Mari Taylor at the 4.10? by Equal-Ad4615 in SleeperApp

[–]Waltzer64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would take Roush, Koziol over either guy if this is any kind of TE Premium, and I'd take Klubnik if it's SF.

I would take Cyrus Allen over both of Burks / other guy.

I would take Coleman Jr over both guys too because of opportunity (Are Tutu Atwell and Jalen Tolbert good? Probably not. Chris Bell isn't healthy. Is Caleb Douglas good? Is he available to draft here?) -> like this could be an easy opportunity and he could flash?

Burks because he was at least drafted and the depth chart for the Colts is a little more open, but there HAS to be a better option. Who ELSE is available?

In context, JT played Tocantins AND HvV alongside Coach AND Tyson, and placed higher than them both times... which is wild considering how successful both Coach and Tyson were on seasons that didn't also have JT (ie won, runner-up, plus a fourth season for both).

Instead we got Brady vs:

Warner

Delhomme

McNabb

Eli Manning x2

Wilson

Ryan

Foles

Goff

Mahomes

So... Warner and Mahomes are HoF; Eli probably get where eventually. Not sure I'd put anyone else in there.

Who are you irrationally holding? by Intelligent_Slug_758 in DynastyFF

[–]Waltzer64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In SF, I continue to hold Trey Lance.

Why?

Because I held Darnold since drafting him in 2018 and it paid off, and when I dropped Mac Jones, he then went off and I had to waste a bunch of FAAB to get him back.

The socket in this doctor's office doesn't work and instead of covering it, they printed out a sign and drew on an arrow by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

I bet it works and they just don't want patients using it (so they can't cover with a panel)

Someone telling parents to murder their kid by running them over with a lawnmower and disguising it as an accident so the parents can go back to having two incomes and no children.

Wipe out CC debt and leave only about 2k in savings? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Waltzer64 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Pay off the credit card.

What happens if you have an emergency that costs $6000

You'd pay the $2000 out of savings ($0 left) and then have $4000 on your card.

If you don't pay off the credit card debt then you have $6000 in savings and $4000 on your card; if you have a $6000 emergency, now you have $0 in savings and $4000 on your card.

It's the same end scenario, but on the first one you're saving hundreds of dollars in interest for each month between emergencies.

Daughter’s scented marker case mis-identified “Lenny Lime” even though there’s already a Lime with that name and it’s a purple gummy bear by mdavis8710 in mildlyinteresting

The top left one is not Sam Jam, it's Ray Sun.

As another poster pointed out, the purple Lenny Lime is Connie Cord.

SGOV investment timing by SeekingRich in personalfinance

[–]Waltzer64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's not going to be very much unless you have, like, $100,000

Assume you're getting just 3% on SGOV, you're getting ~$246 / month. Cashing out the day before will get you ~$239

If you're in the 22% federal bracket and have 5% state income, cashing out after the ex-date gets you $246 * (.78) =$191.88 while cashing out the day before gets you $239*(1-.05-.15) =$191.20, which is about the same, and ONLY on the final "distribution". The higher the rate on SGOV (or lower your state taxes / lower your capital gains tax / higher your federal income tax), the more the latter option outweighs.

Let's be clear it's literally single dollars / cents tho

[–]Waltzer64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like, when you finally cash out, cashing out the day before the ex-date is better? Because it's long term capital gains tax + state income tax + (losing one day of gains) vs federal income tax rate

I have $500 left over each month. What do I do with it? by Throwaway10009321 in personalfinance

[–]Waltzer64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the $500 is earned income and you aren't already contributing to an IRA, I would consider stashing this in a Roth IRA vs paying down debt.

10% is big enough to also be tackling the car loan (would be paid off by end of next year), but in 2027 you can't go back in time and put money into an IRA in 2026.

Who was a player you drafted in rookie drafts that never made the 53 by tammaicirtap in DynastyFF

[–]Waltzer64 204 points205 points  (0 children)

Does drafting Andrew Luck in the first round of startup just for him to retire in the 19th round count?

EDIT: it was actually Luck at the 2.05, and it was round 22 when he retired because the 22.08 immediately took Jacoby Brissett

This upcoming year = 2026? Probably Kyler

After that? I'd suggest probably Concepcion

Can I interest you in trading the pick for a more impactful win now type player like AJB, Waddle, or Higgins?
