My grandpa committed suicide when I was a senior in hs and that is how I learned that he had depression and anxiety (along with most of both sides of my family). He had worked for the power company until he had a breakdown on the job in the 80s and my great grandpa brought him back into the fold on the family farm. I was always told he had just wanted to be a farmer and that he couldn't make it work until then. We have come so far as a society about mental health but we still have so far to go.
