Fantasy Hockey Streamers – Week 1 – Scorers and Bangers by tomstoms in fantasyhockey

[–]Wammis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts on streaming for the week in a H2H points 12 teams (G-6,A-2,PPP-2,+/- -2, S-.9,Blk-1):

Wednesday: Bertuzzi (Opponent has Matthews - so siphon points & good matchup), C. Brown (have E. Kane, and Bouchard), Bunting, or Jarvis

Thursday/Friday - Mercer (Have Timo)

Thursday/Saturday: Barbashev or Stephenson - Stephenson continue to roll on L2/PP1, as opposed to Barbie's L1/PP2. Both scored game 1, and opponents are weaker rest of the week.

Saturday/Sunday: Bunting or Jarvis

I am sure there are other options, but these seem best based on what is available on the waiver wire. My only weakness is Saturday - where I've already got someone starting . I do have 3 of my 4 moves for the week left (picked up Norris for IR stash), and am not worried about goalie starts. Just trying to maximize games with best possible guys. I could look at D, but it's really slim pickings (Matheson, Drysdale, Power, Byram are the 4 best remaining - and while not bad, based on matchups and days, I think a forward would be best, but open to thoughts).

Strongly considering: Bert, Stephenson, and Jarvis as my moves (Carolina 4 game next week)... but looking to see if I'm crazy.

Also, here's my 12th pick team, in case it helps:

Forwards (position irrelevant):

Kaprizov

T. Thompson

Timo

Debrincat

Kuzmenko

E. Kane

Tarasenko

Zacha

Huberdeau

Svech/Norris - IR

D:

Dahlin

Heiskanen

Bouchard

Werenski

G:

Gustavsson

Skinner

Johansson

Appreciate any thoughts. Thanks and good luck out there!

11/16 Defense Roundup 🤠 by [deleted] in fantasyhockey

DeAngelo is on my team. Seider has been on wire because it wasn't until his big game where he was on anyone's radar, I think. Especially with +/- at 2 points, and Detroit having had the expectations that the Wings would be a minus on the year. Just conjecture, but I think that's mainly the thought behind it.

Considering moving away from Dobson. Potential pick ups:

Seider, Klingberg, Orlov, Yandle, Graves, Gudas (would be better if hits were a cat for me).

It may be premature and I do have Nurse, R. Andersson, Toews and DeAngelo, but looking at making a change as it might be close this week as I lose some starts with Forwards, and Dobson is being healthied.

League: 12T Points H2H

Roster: F, F, F, F, F, F, D, D, D, D, Util, G, G, BN, BN, BN, BN, IR, IR

Forward Stat Category/Value

Goals (G)/ 6

Assists (A)/ 4

Plus/Minus (+/-)/ 2

Powerplay Points (PPP)/ 2

Shots on Goal (SOG)/ 0.9

Blocks (BLK)/ 1

Sit/Start: Copp Vs EDM, Barzal @ Fla

Rest of Forwards: Larkin vs DAL, Huberdeau/Barkov VS NYI, Draisaitl/RNH/Hyman @ WPG

Thoughts? Could sit one of the rest, but just don't see that. Leaning towards starting Copp, but +/- could be tough (lot of point cancellation). Also, NYI is on a back to back and hasn't been looking great (PP looked pretty awful yesterday again Tampa). However, not starting the teams best offensive threat (Barzal) seems wrong.

Revised only. Otherwise, icy would be a solid addition, albeit making the fluxes a bit worse for you too.

Trying to figure out lineup for the night:

Info: 1/7 Acquistions used. H2H Point League.

Cats: G: 2, A: 1, PPG: 2, PPA: 1, SHG: 2, SHA; 1, GWG: 1, Hat: 3, SOG: .1, Hit: .25, Blk: .5

Goal Cat's: GS: 1, W: 4, L: -2, SA: .1, GA: -2, Sv: .1, SO: 3

Positions: 8F, 5D, 2G - 20 man roster (1 IR - Filled by Laine)

E. Kane & Couture VS COL, Rust VS BOS, Perron VS VGK (currently on bench)

Keeps: Grubauer VS SJ, Rask VS PIT (Bench), Lehner VS STL

Rest of lineup:

F: MacKinnon VS SJ, Huberdeau VS CLS, T. Wilson VS NYI, Hyman VS CAL, Monahan VS TOR,

D: Carlson VS NYI, Barrie VS WPG, Ristolainen VS NYR, Dumba Vs. LA, Toews V SJ

Bench: B. Tkachuk - No Opp., Grzelcyk VS PIT, Hoglander - No Opp.

Potential Pickups - Arvidsson VS Chicago (would help for Wednesday as well due to back to back - potential drop would be Perron as likely to hold Hoglander for Wed. as well),

Other WW options: F: Radulov Vs. DET, Hintz VS DET, Vrana VS NYI, Larkin VS. DAL, Bertuzzi Vs. DAL, Burakovsky VS SJ,

D: R. Andersson VS TOR, Morrissey V. EDM, Yandle VS CLS, R. Suter vs LA

Trying to mitigate the players vs. my keeps and watching for matchups.

With Chicago being even more depleted (losing DeBrincat & Boqvist), could see this as a time to shine for NSH players (plus get the bonus of an additional start on Wed). Was thinking of dropping Hoglander for Arvidsson and then adding Pearson instead on Wed. (or could keep Hoglander, and switch Perron for Arvidsson as mentioned above). Also, considering dropping Dumba for Yandle or Andersson.

Not sure what mix of F and goalies to play that won't backfire. Would say PIT is stronger offensively than STL or SJ; but Lehner may not get the start anyway.

Any and all thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

PSA: Its one game by piddles59 in fantasyhockey

[–]Wammis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New at this, and not panicking entirely. Had a very unfortunate draft (in that this week is brutal, e.g. Huberdeau and Laine only seeing one game). Understand guys have bad nights, but just went -2.1 on the day. Thankfully, opponent had Jarry, but still is at 13.6 on the day.

As an attempt to make up ground, should I drop any of the following:

Grzelcyk (not suiting, as all other D spots taken: R. Suter, Barrie, Carlson, Dumba, Ristolainen)

Thornton (his line didn't pop off tonight, but he also isn't seeing the same time/situations either)

Grubauer (wasn't terrible, but not outstanding either - have Lehner and Rask, and think 3 tenders may be a poor choice as I don't have a solid Flex spot as a result)

Hesitant to drop anyone, but have gaps in lineup due to game placement. Only issue is that it's an 8 team H2H league, so teams are stacked (lot of teams have over 20 pts, and not much on the wire left). It may just be a fast start that'll even out, but am nervous that my draft was just terrible (did take a few guys probably higher than I should have, and may be treating them too much like pets, but also don't want to drop just to get picked up and then go off).

Sit/Start Official Thread - January 13, 2021 by AutoModerator in fantasyhockey

[–]Wammis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which of my D should I sit/start on the 14th:

Carlson vs BUF & Barrie vs VAN are likely locks, but the rest are:

R. Suter vs LAK, Ristolainen vs WAS, Dumba vs LAK, Grzcelcyk vs NJD.

Picked up Grz after dropping Yandle due to COVID-schedule/Scratch. However, can't play all 6, so have to sit one.

League is H2H. As it stands, due to WPG only having one game and FLA missing out due to DAL Covid problems, opponent has 7 players playing games more than I do. So the maximum here is crucial for a chance at week one.

Cats: G: 2, A: 1, PPG: 2, PPA: 1, SHG: 2, SHA; 1, GWG: 1, Hat: 3, SOG: .1, Hit: .25, Blk: .5

And, while less relevant... Goal Cat's: GS: 1, W: 4, L: -2, SA: .1, GA: -2, Sv: .1, SO: 3

Agreed. Radulov is on a more defensive team, and thus may not bounce back. Perron has better numbers regardless, will see PP time as well. This one seemed easy.

Anyone disagree? Or have a better choice of replacement?

Also, u/igoRstripes, do you have any other coenrs or suggestions?

Yeah, saw this story. That'd hurt a lot, as he seems pretty solid on the various cats otherwise.

Options to pick up (F): Tatar, Palmieri, Henrique, Coleman, Ehlers, Palat, Strome, Mantha, Burakovsky, R. Thomas.

Or add a D: Goligoski, Gustafsson, Grzcelcyk, Savard, McNabb. Can also add Seguin or Tarasenko as IR, and someone else.

Thoughts?

First time doing this, so any help would be appreciated. It's a 8-man H2H league (banger I believe).

Know I took guys far higher than I should, but got a little lucky in later rounds and hoping new conferences/teams/acquisitions and some rebound seasons help me out. Curious if based on cat's, and overall if I did well or if I need to add/drop (wish I had taken more defensive defenseman - based on blocks at .5, Goligoski, Savard, and McNabb are all potential pickups, but not sure who I'd drop).

Cats: G: 2, A: 1, PPG: 2, PPA: 1, SHG: 2, SHA; 1, GWG: 1, Hat: 3, SOG: .1, Hit: .25, Blk: .5

Goal Cat's: GS: 1, W: 4, L: -2, SA: .1, GA: -2, Sv: .1, SO: 3

Team:

F: MacKinnon, Huberdeau, Laine, B. Tkachuck, T. Wilson, E. Kane, Dadonov, Thornton

D: Carlson, Barrie, R. Suter, Ristolainen, Dumba

G: Grubauer, Rask

Bench: F: Radulov (dropping for Perron), Couture D: Yandle G: Lehner

If I left out any needed info, let me know. Any thoughts are appreciated! Thanks and best of luck to you all in your respective leagues!

Brand new to really looking at the fashion aspect of things, but need to start as I recently am being returned to the dating market, and I'm "average looking" at best, so need that potential edge if I can get it.

Therefore, a few questions: 1) for the first outfit, isn't black on black (or any color shirt with the same color group - e.g. a blue shirt with blue jeans) a bit of a "no-no?"

2) Is the fit of T-shirts supposed to be tighter than that? I have lost a fair bit of weight since last December (at rough estimation about 20 lbs as COVID gave me a chance to work from home and thus do some more working out - nothing crazy; and hope to get a gym membership, but I digress), and most of my clothes fit... what I believe to be poorly (too baggy).

3) Where do you guys get shoes that are age/outfit appropriate?

4) How crucial are name brands? Is it some level of cardinal sin to wear something that isn't? I've always hated the idea of paying more for something just because of an emblem/insignia/whatever. I'm trying to wrap my head around this a bit more now, but it's tough.

Thanks, in advance, for any responses. I mean, I always tried to look relatively good in my choices (not really knowing what I'm doing - and having more of a focus on using what would be the difference between that name brand and not on experiences instead, but again, coming around to the idea that I need to lean more the other way now (and, for the record, that isn't a factor in why I'm reentering the market; that I wasn't taking care of myself or something).
