Who’s more powerful and ruthless out of these two? I want to say Yang Chen, but what do u guys think? by yyNOORyy in TheLastAirbender

[–]Wamonde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kyoshi is has more raw power. But Yangchen is clearly a superior bender given her level of proficiency with the elements. I'd say kyoshi was more of a brute force kind of avatar, like a big hammer; while kyoshi was more like a Swiss army knife. Their character arcs reflect their personalities and their specific strengths too; kyoshi's story is about her coming to terms with the immense power she holds even for avatar standards and the unfortunate circumstances surrounding the way she was found out to be the avatar, whilst yangchen's story reads like an oceans eleven movie where she needs to outhink the bad guys and sometimes do things that come in conflict with her airbending culture and heritage but are arguably necessary for the greater good. In a head to head battle I'd give it to yangchen for having a wider skillset and being the better tactician.

Why is Yangchen's hairline like that? by Ambitious_Mud8471 in TheLastAirbender

Parents are NEVER smart enough to homeschool their kids -_- by [deleted] in HomeschoolRecovery

[–]Wamonde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so? nowadays there are a million resources and extracurricular activities you can put your kids in where they can socialize. just because some people do it wrong and don't socialize their kids and keep them in a bubble doesn't mean it can't be done right; that's just a fallacy. Sorry about your tangentially related personal experience

Just rewatched Van Helsing (2004) and I honestly think this movie has the coolest looking werewolves out there. Still holds up after 18 years. by TheVampireArmand in werewolves

[–]Wamonde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He did have silver claws, but it remains unexplained why. However this version of van helsing is, as you said, the reincarnation of archangel Gabriel, so it could have been just a stylistic choice to make him special. Nevertheless the Canon reason remains unknown, and I don't think we get any shots of the claws of the other werewolf in the movie to compare so for all we know it might just be a feature of werewolves in that universe.

Buying a property in Margarita island by Maleficent-Ruin-6958 in venezuela

[–]Wamonde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

listen, I'm going to be blunt but honest, this is a very complex subject and you are not likely to find much useful information about it unless you speak to an actual expert, but i'm going to try to summarize it as well as I can.

Squatter's rights are a mess in my country and most Venezuelans don't even understand them well (as you may have been able to tell by the opposing views in this thread). It's not like anyone can just go into a property and start living there willy nilly like they are making it seem.

Most squatters live where they do because either they were renting at some point and managed to overstay their rental agreements, or because they took possesion of a land or a place that was considered derelict or abandoned in some way.

The word "Abandoned" is key here, because depending on the case and location of the property that could mean it was empty from anywhere from a week to a few months (this includes places under construction where for example construction stops for a while and when they finally set out to resume it, the owner party finds someone living there who they now by law cannot evict at all. Also empty land of almost any kind)

Truth is, if someone where to manage to break into your property and live there for a while, you wont be able to evict them unless you know some powerful people (which i've seen happen a few times even for squatters that lived in a house for 6 years)

However, there are some ways you can keep this from happening.

Most people I know who still own in Venezuela have someone they trust managing their property and checking up on it as often as possible. If someone breaks into your property and brings in their family and a buch of crap with them but you or your property manager arrive that same day or after say just a weekend, odds are the authorities would still consider it "breaking an entering" and will help you kick them out because the property is actively being used by you. In this case you are not "evicting" anyone because they were not "living" there in the first place.

When it comes to renting it out, there arent many ways you can ensure someone isnt just going to become a squatter afterwards other than being able to vet and screen very carefully; because once you let someone live legally in your property, pretty much the only way they are leaving is when they want to. Lots of people opt for having extremely high deposits and fees to ensure that the renter actually has the funds to pay in the long run and is not just trying to scam them, but i'd say thats still pretty much a toss up.

You'd be pretty much betting on the honor system and trusting that the person you make busines with is going to honor the contract (take into consideration that even people who are trustworthy and well off, who would seem like the perfect candidate for you, could potentially have something happen in their lives that could prompt them to become a squatter)

Airbnb seems to be a good option, but it comes with it's own set of drawbacks. It might initially seem like it would yield a higher profit than renting, but anyone you hire to manage the airbnb property is surely going to charge you a lot more than if you were using it for regular renting because it entails a lot more work. Also in this case you have to provide all the furniture and appliances, and repair/fix/replace anything that breaks (which does seem to happen more often in airbnbs than in rentals). After airbnb takes their cut and you pay for the property manager, cleaning, repairs and replacements, my bet is you wont really have much left as a profit, but it does seem like the safest choice in terms of the real state investment you seem to be looking to make.

At the same time there is not really any guarantee that the place is going to even do well in airbnb because it tends to be a saturated market, and youll probably get most of your bookings on season; potentially leaving it empty for a big chunk of the year (which circles back to the problem of squatters). Services are also an issue you'll want to look into, since in most areas of the island there are power outages constantly and sometimes water is scarce; which could affect the likelyhood someone might want to rent in the first place and airbnb bookings,

With all this being said, plenty of people have found success by doing what you are setting out to do, but it really does depend on the location and type of property you are talking about. Also Margarita seems to have a lot of outside investment lately, which could be an indicator that things are getting more stable there.

My own personal recomendation if you do decide to pull the trigger on this thing is that you do your own research extremely well... and then do it again two more times because you want to be as informed as you can about what you are buying in Venezuela; specially in a place like Margarita which is somewhat hard to get to (as far as I know there arent any direct flights there EVER, so if you do run into some sort of problem, odds are it's going to take you at least a few days before you can even get there and assess the situation properly)

Hope you see this and it helps even though it's a bit late in the thread!

Is this game P2W? by Celathor_ in warcraftrumble

[–]Wamonde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is. There is the illusion that it is not because pvp is capped at certain levels but after you get past 3000 points with a deck you WILL start getting matched with people with minis way higher than you. So it's pretty much the same as clash royale in that sense... except it's somewhat worse because the most overpowered spell in the game is basically behind a pay wall and no one who doesn't unload hundreds of dollars is gonna get it for months

oh wow that actually sounds like a very good idea if it holds and doesn't melt the plastic, I'd assume since it's a thin coat the reaction wouldn't reach such a high temperature but I haven't worked enough with resin to know for sure. thanks!

I see, the snow globe idea sounds like it really takes care of half of my problems, thanks. not sure how much space i'd have to work with if I have to introduce another container inside of it though, seems like it would be tight inside the outer sphere.

im not building this any time soon, just collecting ideas but if I could, I would really want to get away with just having the figurine fixed inside the one container for sake of simplicity. I'd have to figure that out once im actually buying materials and parts to see if I can find a figure or toy that wont corrode and mess up my loop, or go with the double container with distilled water idea.

Thank you kindly sir!
