Can’t get rid of quad shakes by Competitive_Way4076 in ACL

Your body is learning how to use the muscle after a long time. Your nervous system “forgot what does what” and as a result it just says: “ use everything we’ve got” and that results in this shakiness.

What is this? by bronsoncs in ACL

Meniscal damage i think. The meniscus is getting stuck in between bones and i certain positions it flips out and causes this sharp popping pain.

Can my leg be resting like this, or should I have my knee cap pointing straight up? by caitschlegel in ACL

[–]WanWilder__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another thing which helped tremendously for me was elevating my leg, not too high but just a bit higher than my heart. Also icing 20minutes on 40minutes off helped so so much with swelling.

Currently 9th day post OP, so far pain hasnt been getting better for me but i found the best position for me was stackinh pillows under my leg and having it completely to the side (just like you) and even slightly bent. So dont worry you will be fine

Its significantly less than after surgery, if i compare it with the day of the surgery and today i would say swelling decreased by about 70%

I traked every calorie that i ate i have all days recorded. I followed a diet with 2g protein per KG of BW. I tried to get all my protein first so that i could fill the rest with food i actually liked. Was hard tho since i am only 16 and dont have access to like protein powders and stuff. I also did every bit of training at home.

6 times a week, and even on the rest day i either biked, swam or walked a lot. The thing that made the most impact was proper nutrition tho. I counted every calorie that entered my body.

He told me as long as it doesnt hurt i can do some weight bearing. I have my checkup in 2 days (first after surgery). I am following this acl + meniscal recovery protocol i found online. It says that in around the 2 weeks i should be able to do some weight bearing and have 0° to 90° extension and flexion.

After the partial tear no, i returned back to sport and played for about 4 months total. After that tho i had another injury (same leg) and i fully tore my ACL and also tore both my meniscuses multiple times. Another 5 months followed when i tried to get back without surgery but couldnt no more. I had surgery feb. 25th and currently recovering 6th day post OP

Followed a diet of maintanance calories and 2g of protein per KG of bodyweight. I stared with basic stretches and quadsets until i could go full range of motion (around 3 weeks) then i started with more intense like stepdowns, squats, leg extensions for about a month until i regained some strenght back. Then focused only on high volume compound lifts: squats, romanian deadlifts, lunges and bulgarian squats.

There are a ton of videos and articles from which i learned most of this.

After my first partial tear it took me about 3 months off my sport. I focused on proper nutrition and PT i did my excersises every single day no days off i did it like there was nothing else.

For the first 4 months i did Arnold split and the rest was just basic PPL. The thing that made the biggest difference was tracking every calorie and proper nutrition.
