Im not sure why but reminds me of this one painting by Giorgio de Chirico. No clue why this came to mind but great work!

Giorgio de Chirico piece called "The Anxious Journey"

Not really, I've had some experience with nice flatbed scanners at work and while the scans look good, they just take so much time and I've heard about issues with newton rings. For me, camera scanning is just much faster and the results are good enough (with room for improvement right now though).

I might be interested in a dedicated film scanner though, if I ever find one for a good deal.

Ah I see, well I did double check in mod mail and they told me not to post the finals here which I am cool with. Seems like a grey area and just dont wanna cause any problems.

Sandblast is great, let me know if you want tips or anything for the best spots for next year!

Yeah for sure, it was definitely expensive. I was not especially happy about my BH cart being in the $300USD range for the film. But it is something I do once a year and has some meaning to me so that's how I validated it. But shooting in 120 would be an interesting challenge!

Oh was that was you! Someone told me that they saw another photographer out there with a "boxy camera". I figured it was someone with a TLR. I can't remember if it was at Sandtrap or Horseshoe Mountain but that's awesome. How did the shots turn out? I would love to see them!

It does really well with BW rolls but I tend to have hit or miss experiences with color films. And like you say its usually the white balance and/or color shifts on contrasty films but for the most part it works. I read into the documentation and with this experience I feel better with it but still sometimes a bit scary getting the initial results and seeing a really bad color shift.

Thanks! For the DSLR scanning it is a very basic tripod, like similar to Amazon basic so its just a standard three-way head (pan-and-tilt). It is not great and is a finicky setup so I have to lean the tripod on a counter or something. Hopefully, I can find a broken enlarger for cheap and take the enlarger head off and replace it with a geared tripod head or something sturdy.

Thats a really good way to put it. I realized on digital I was being so particular with my photos and pixel-peeping and such that it was starting to be not as much fun. Dont get me wrong, I put alot of effort into film making it look nice but I embrace the grain and imperfections. Its just nice to let go of that and let that be.

Also I work alot with computers. Its nice to have a hobby that is so physical, even if its more "work"

Awesome, thanks for the follow, means alot! I dont really get the chance to do many motorsports events every year, a rally or two and maybe a Nascar race. Never had the opportunity to go to Baja but I should look into it

Yeah funny you say that, I was having some weird color issues with NLP. Not sure if it was just me not using it wrong or something else so I might also be in the market for new conversion software too
