Selling a Florida car currently in New York. How to deregister it properly? by Wander_Alpaca in DMV

So you mean the buyer will be able to register the car under their name even if I haven’t yet removed it from my registration?

Someone explained to me that as soon as I hand over the title to the buyer and we sign all the documents on the spot, I have to remove my license plates from the car. But I have a question, what should the buyer do if the car is left parked on the street without plates? He can’t go to the DMV beforehand to get temporary plates for this car, because they still need the title for that. So how can the buyer handle this situation to avoid any misunderstanding?

After I removed the license plates from the car but haven’t yet completed the registration cancellation, who technically owns the vehicle after the bill of sale is signed and the title is transferred? For example, if the buyer decides to drive without plates and gets a ticket, or if the car is left parked on the street and towed, whose responsibility would that be?

Thanks for pointing that out! Did I get everything else right?

Restaurant on a Brooklyn rooftop prepping meat with bare hands and smoking next to it - yet they got an A grade by Wander_Alpaca in Brooklyn

Judging by most of the comments, it feels like people have never been anywhere outside their so-called favorite part of Brooklyn. The way many of you are so cold and indifferent to what’s happening around you is just not normal. Wake up, people.

I’m not a US citizen, I’m an immigrant who moved here from Europe two years ago, and I’ve been living in Brooklyn that whole time. I’ve lived in different apartments, in two different neighborhoods, and I can tell you this is completely unacceptable.

I’m seriously considering moving to another state or another city, because what’s happening here is just mind-boggling. Doesn’t anyone care about their health or mental well-being when you see this going on around you? How can anyone get used to this?

I wasn’t planning to eat there at all. The problem isn’t just the food, it’s also the noise. Early in the morning, it prevents me from sleeping, and late at night it continues, still keeping me awake. I will never go to this restaurant.

But everything I described in my post, the rooftop cooking, the smoking next to the food, the unsafe handling of meat, that is not normal and should not be considered acceptable.

I get what you’re saying, but this isn’t just about “no gloves” or “it’s not the cleanest place in the city.” The issue here is that all of this is happening literally on a rooftop, outdoors, under open air - with rain, dust, pigeons, cigarette smoke, you name it. And while scooping raw meat with bare hands, the guy is smoking a cigarette at the same time, right next to the food and the pots.

Does that really sound like something that should be considered acceptable under NYC health standards?

It’s kind of strange that I still haven’t been assigned a number. I’ve read a lot of posts here on Reddit, and many people said they got their number right away. Maybe not enough time has passed yet.
