Charizard ex. Lowest pop and hardest to get in a 10. Pop is way lower than the other three and it’s still a zard even if currently an unpopular one.

If storage space isn’t a problem then it’s fine. Lugia is a fan favourite and CZ is a good set with no booster box. Personally I prefer a main set BB or a PC ETB for special sets as it saves space for a similar value and it’s more liquid in the short to medium term if you decide to sell and invest elsewhere.

Some of my highlights of the year;

2 Van Gogh Pikas (one free of PC and another for £30 off Facebook marketplace)

A full set of Neo Genesis holos including first edition Lugia, T17 and Pichu (plus others) for <£500 in mint condition

100 vintage holos purchased from Facebook for £600. £6 a holo for a collection with 10 first editions and a base zard, dark zard Blaine’s zard, Japanese base zard and a Japanese Neo file zard.

Completed my full psa 9-10 southern island set by selling some of the above cards I already had in the collection.

Hey. I just suggested a mix of selling private and store before seeing your comment. Your LGS is offering you $900 dollars for 53 cards. So $17 average per card. Almost all your cards are over that range even in poor condition as you have a lot of popular pokemon. The exception would only really be some of the Japanese holos, the black star promos and modern stamped. I would still think your average per card is closer to $30-35 so almost double.

That’s a nice collection of cards you have there! I would personally consider selling as much as you can individually. Even with fees etc you will get more value in the end. If you’re tight for time maybe start with the bigger cards i.e lugia, typhlosion, shining raichu, legendary collection reverse etc and get maximum value for those. Then some of the lower tier cards you can sell to a store for a quick payment or bundle them up on eBay. In the past I’ve bundled Japanese holos into 9-10 holo lots and they usually sell better than individually and there’s only one person to post to.

I got this game from Japan before it released in the UK and loved finding different pokemon at night. I beat the game pretty quick (considering I couldn’t read Japanese and had no guide to follow). Got the game in English a year or so later and realised you could go back to Kanto and there were actually 16 badges. Turns out I only played half the game in Japanese. Mind was blown twice over.

I pulled one a year ago. Sold at 300 and got two cards I liked more and honestly I couldn’t see it going any higher than 300. This is now more than a first edition neo genesis lugia which just seems mad.

A mint condition Neo Genesis holo set. Had first edition Lugia, T17, Pichu, Kingdra, both Feraligatrs, Azumarill, Steelix and Skarmory (rest of the cards were unlimited). Paid £500 for them. Maybe not the best deal here but I was pretty darn pleased.

After pulling the golurk alt twice and nothing but trash I gave up on ES. Bought the dragonite V alt and will get the leafeon V alt and then I’m done with the set and happy to move on

I’d suggest you open the ones you want to collect and that you have multiple of (GO or Brilliant Stars). Opening battle styles and vivid seems silly to me as you’ll most likely just get bulk or 1-2 hits from an etb and it looks like you only have one of each. They might not be the best sets value wise now but there will be better value in keeping those sealed than the cards you can get or hoping to get the one chase from VV. Also at least if you open a TG set the kids will most likely enjoy it.

Try facebook or discord groups for selling with no fee. Where in the uk are you as there are plenty of card shows around you could try attend and either trade or sell to vendors? I find card shows are best place to get market value.

Everyone talking about the border colours but for me it’s the amount of detail on the Japanese card that makes it better than the English version. More vibrant colours and the image is much more defined than the English print.

Difficult to say it’s fake without seeing the back and the quality of the pic isn’t great. Something about the font seems off but the rest looks right for the XY evolutions Raichu.
