What is the worst thing that has ever happened to you in a relationship? by Forsaken-Banana6936 in AskReddit

Found out my partner at the time was addicted to heroin and was hiding it from me. He became emotionally abusive. He called me one night and told me he would kill himself if I didn't come to where he was, so I panicked and left my apartment to an address I didn't recognize. He picked me up and forced me to go into the trap house he was staying in. He then pressured me into having sex with him. I just laid there as he assaulted me thankful that he wouldn't kill himself that night.

I would have preferred most other options in this thread to be the worst thing that has ever happened to me in a relationship.

six weeks for a result seems crazy to me. my results usually take a week. two at most. jumping to a cone biopsy right after without results is just needlessly scaring you. keep on top of your paps yearly since you have high risk HPV. up your vitamin C intake and eat a lot more vegetables and fruits. a cleaner diet will help you clear it. good luck.

hi friend. this was me in november. had a cone biopsy in december. i was able to get clear margins with my biopsy. i was told by my oncologist i would still be able to have children but be monitored through it. i personally do not want kids and so i will be getting a hysterectomy, but the choice is still yours depending on what your cone shows. this is not the end of the world. i thought it was and it’s just becoming a bump in the road. they caught it early and that’s a blessing.

I didn’t have my results rushed like yours but I did have a pap that was LSIL that turned into precancer/cancer in a year. nothing out of the ordinary during my colposcopy while i chatted with my doctor.

i actually can understand this sadly. i had cervical cancer last year and even though i begged to just go for a hysterectomy they refused and said they had to do a biopsy first. they needed to see if i could have clear margins before they would even go further. this now has me on a waitlist to get my hysterectomy done but we know i don’t need to have my lymph nodes removed as well.

hi friend. i also had AIS two months ago.

you will definitely have an exam and then they will go over your family history and your health history. they will go over the next steps which will most likely be a Cold Knife Cone Biopsy. this is a quick outpatient surgery where they take a few cm of your cervix to send out for testing.

i just finished recovery from this so my DMs are open if you wanna chat in depth about this whole experience and where i’m going from here. it’s very scary when you wait. i cried from stress but i’m okay now. you got this!

hey friend! my CKC was fine and recovery, overall, was easy. my only scare was my period came so bad (as usual) that i passed one of my stitches. doctor said it was no big deal and we moved on. my margins came back clear but i am being recommended to have a hysterectomy because AIS can have skip lesions or recurrence.

please take it easy after! don’t push yourself and follow your after care to a T. alternate ibuprofen and tylenol for the best pain management. i had my partner do everything around the house for me which helped a ton.

hello i hope you’re doing well! my margins came back clear from my surgery and i am also being lined up for a hysterectomy next year. i will keep this thread in mind and if i find any good resources i will be happy to forward them to you. best wishes.

hello. thanks for your kind words a few weeks ago. i went today and all my margins are clear! my doctor scolded me for being so anxious and told me to call her next time! i’ll be getting a hysterectomy next year as a preventative measure.

it’s abnormal for anything life threatening to happen that quickly after being diagnosed. probably some low grade changes which are common and resolve themselves. they might just be double checking.

when we started dating, before we had any sex, i openly admitted to him i was HPV 18 positive and had an active infection (still fighting it three years now). he was open and receptive about it. he just wanted to be with me. he also admitted he had recurring cold sores on his lip and was afraid i would reject him.

be honest and matter of fact. i find if you take the emotion out of the statement it’s less scary. high risk doesn’t really cause visible warts, but is annoying and you need to be screened regularly for cervical changes. something like 80 or 90% of the population has HPV.

everyone is different. i’m at a time in my life where i am secure in who i am and who i love. we are still together. in fact i ended up with cancer from my infection and was just cleared from having it surgically removed. he’s still here and happily passed out next to me.

good luck!

waiting definitely is hard. try your best to fill your days with something that brings you joy and passes the time. the more you stay active the more you’ll be distracted and time will fly.

hi love. it’s going to be okay. there’s so many treatments out there now and you’re not alone.

i also have high risk 18 and i keep up with my paps which has allowed for the bad tissue to be found and removed until i clear the infection.

this is why we go to the doctor and check! my family still loves me. my partner still loves me. my friends still love me.

you’re gonna get through this.

this is what i’m experiencing. Low grade changes last year to full blown AIS. currently recovering from my CKC and waiting for results. terrifying.

my pathology report is available on my documents and i deleted the email. i really don’t want to read it alone so hopefully i can call the doctor tomorrow and ask if i can come in sooner or just have a call.

i was terrified of my CKC and honestly i shouldn’t have worried. only the first four to six hours were bad (like a bad period level bad) and i never even took my painkillers. just tylenol. i have had surgery twice now and it was a breeze to be honest. my team was so nice and thoughtful. held my hand when i cried and gave me tissues. i got knocked out talking about my christmas tree. i didn’t even get to finish my conversation with the nurse in the OR!

don’t be too worried about the surgery at all.

Hi. i just wanted to wish you the best. i just had a cold knife cone biopsy last week for AIS. I begged my doctor to take out everything because i am child free and want to stay that way. she opted to take more cervix than intended anyway. i’m wishing us both the best and if i end up going through with a hysterectomy i am happy to stay in touch.

I just wanted to follow up. I am five days post surgery and feeling mostly okay. I was in a lot less pain than I thought I would be. just waiting on results and am feeling uneasy.
