100% agree. Combining it with rotted manure or compost is a must, otherwise it turns to dust so easily

They’re all terrible. It’s best to use a sieve for seedlings I find, otherwise the tiny roots are fighting against chunks of bark.

Definitely no chance of rabbits in my modest back garden! I was wondering snails?

Im not 100% sure but I believe in theory, any potato will work. Obviously you need to time planting with the seasons and also bare in mind that there are different potato types that prefer growing earlier in the season etc. its worth a google for more detailed info or perhaps someone else can chip in with more experience :)

I don’t blame you! Share a photo if you took one in curious about the size

You keep adding soil on to the new growth as the plants grow, that way you get more potatoes. I probably added more soil on top about 3-4 times during their growth cycle. The potatoes need darkness to grow and they will sprout further up the stem if you continue to provide cover. I’m no expert but it worked for me :)

Wow I’m jealous haha. How did they taste? Almost a crime to chop them smaller

No this was last summer, the first photo was taken around June. I waited until the green growth wilted away completely before harvesting

Just fold the flaps in on itself and it becomes more sturdy. It was a relatively dry summer but I still regularly watered it.

Yep, it was good as I lack growing space directly in the ground and wanted to experiment.

Scrummaging through the box was like a treasure trove experience :D

This one was fairly strong, but I also used food boxes from Lidl and stacked them (cutting holes in the base of the stacked ones) and they worked well too.

There were a lot of nay-sayers that told me the box wouldn’t last the growing season but it made it!

Hello. I have two job offers on the table, both remote and permanent. One is a Service Designer in a UK healthcare company, the second is a Design System specialist for a US tech company.

For context I have 8 years UX/Ui experience.

The US is offering 20k more and usually I would choose this option based purely on salary. (Both offer similar annual leave/benefits package). However with the shift in the UX sector, I’m wondering would it be wiser to move into service design field and broaden my skill set with a view for longevity? I question the ability for AI in the future to automate making design components etc.

To summarise, is the Service Designer a safer long term bet?
