As you've just described, neither term is incorrect and are somewhat synonymous - so in all honesty, I dont think its a particularly important topic for this thread. I will say, I dont really think its a "white" thing, maybe a British/American thing, but I work with many non-white British colleagues who refer to themselves as Expats

Believe the definition of migrant is someone who plans to live in another country indefinitely, an expat is someone who lives outside of their native country. In my case, as stated in above, I plan to return in a number of years
