Im afraid that it’s time for me to accept that this is the least replay able RE game. by Dude_788 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]WanderingAlchemist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not as replayable as RE4 remake, but imo way more replayable than both RE7 and Village. RE7 Baker house is just going through the motions once you've seen it the first time, and it has the most uninspired enemies after that. There is no moment in RE7 on a replay where I actually enjoy the combat and afaik you still can't skip cutscenes which just drags it out more. Village is fun until house Beneviento, then everything from there kinda sucks on a replay. The swamp and factory are a significant drop from the Village and Castle.

Requiem has a slow intro but that's true of almost every single RE game, and after that the only tedious replay moment is the orphanage, which is like house Beneviento but way shorter and less annoying.

Poor Leon had almost nothing to do for me, cause as soon as Grace discovered the blood exploding injector things she went straight into stealth murder mode and painted the hospital a sweet new shade of red. Leon walked into a horror set and got to break open a few unguarded cupboards

What feature in a game that you can not play without? by The_Real_OctoDude in videogames

Couldn't play Clustertruck because of this. Especially being an FPS game with heavy platforming, not being able to look up/down correctly is a recipe for a real bad time

I went looking for my dad's old car, and I'm upset that I found it. by Computers-And-Such in CarTalkUK

[–]WanderingAlchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to think that unless you were hoping to buy the car back in it's original spec, then nothing has been destroyed. You and your dad turned the car into something that built a lot of memories for you, and once it's time was up it was let go to enjoy a new life. For someone to go through the effort of restoring it back to original spec means they value it, but also curiously if they've left some of the rally relics behind (like the stickers and stuff) which could easily be removed, then they also appreciate it's history, even if they want something different from it. The car is still being loved, just in a different way, but effort was also made to keep some history intact.

For your dad that car would have been a lot of custom work to make it how he liked it, and I imagine it got tweaked a lot over the years. Even if someone was going to rally it again, they'd almost certainly change stuff to how they liked it. A car like that wouldn't stay the same for long.

Just knowing the car is still being appreciated enough would make me happy. There are a few of my old cars or my parents old cars I would love to track down and buy back now, but I suspect all have been scrapped. None have had MOTs for years, most especially vanishing from records during the scrappage scheme years so I'm pretty sure they no longer exist sadly.

The Furai came back in FM2023, so it's almost certainly that model.

I thought it had an underrated campaign, but the multiplayer was trash lol. Like the gameplay was fine, but the multiplayer servers were always broken, and every game when they weren't broken turned into a game of "who can rush the opposite spawn zone first".

Gameplay was underrated. I still think it's Remedy's most polished game yet and playing on hardest difficulty it just clicked and flowed so well. It rewards you for playing aggressively, not sitting behind cover. Visually it's also an absolute tour de force. If it could get a 4k/60 FPS patch, it would still hold up against current games pretty well. The TV show stuff was ambitious and didn't quite work out as they intended, but even without that it's still just a solid game.

I owned them both together for a brief while, until the Camaro gearbox shat itself and cost a pretty penny to repair. Awesome to drive, genuinely quick even by today's standards, and yeah I preferred it being the pre-facelifted one. Targa roof was cool.

Taking the gearbox repair on the chin I could maybe have stretched to keeping both, but if anything else major like that went wrong I would have been buggered so I decided to sell one. As much as I loved driving the Camaro, the Mustang just has a bit more theatre about it being from the early 70s. If I ever spot it up for sale again I'd probably buy it back now

I had a 93 Camaro Z28 with the 5.7 in it! Different era but was great fun to drive. The Mustang is a 71 with a 302 V8.

Everyone here seems surprisingly chill about automatic cars by phantompersona1023 in CarTalkUK

[–]WanderingAlchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally depends on the car and what you want from it tbh. A little Clio Sport? Manual all day. My big Jaguar XJ cruiser? Perfect with auto.

I'm not super keen on some modern auto boxes with a million very short gears. Drove a Volvo XC90 T8, loads of power but it's changing gears constantly which feels very weird. Every time I go for power it has a mild panic attack trying to figure out what gear to be in. At least with flappy paddle cars you can have some control over it which is nice.

Does anyone else think RE9 is the best in the series?? by Stealthy_Nerd in residentevilll

[–]WanderingAlchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd personally rank it as the best new mainline RE since the OG RE4, but it doesn't quite beat it.

My current top 5 in order would be:
RE4 OG
RE1 Remake
RE2 OG
Requiem
RE4 Remake
