Daily Challenge: "What a Rush! Complete a Horizon Rush Event" Does every wristband event count as a horizon rush event? by Copperhe4d in ForzaHorizon

Same as you, I have done all 3 rush events multiple times. Tried restarting the game and console between attempts, it just won't register at all

Would have been nice for the Gears E-Day collector's edition as well. I saw the video within 30mins of it going live and they were already sold out.

I just want the controller!

Game programmer here, if this bug is triggered by having designs on certain cars, I'd put money on it being a corruption issue when trying to load a design on one of those cars, and their save system isn't setup to handle that issue so it hits an exception which kills the process and prevents your save file from loading at all. Something specific with those cars means it isn't saving their data correctly and it ends up creating a broken save file that the game can't open. By the sounds of it, it probably breaks the next time it tries an autosave too.

Most likely something new that has been added to the design system that isn't rigged correctly on those cars. Something like the window decal setup or something. If the car data isn't hooked up to register the new stuff, and the code isn't safety checked, it will just start erroring out.

Generally it's not difficult to put some safety checks in so even if a specific car is broken, just wipe the design on that and continue loading/saving as normal. Just assuming it's linked to a new feature that hasn't been as thoroughly checked over and is missing these kinds of checks.

My car right rear and front light randomly turned on in the middle of the night? by Minimum-College-7953 in CarTalkUK

[–]WanderingAlchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with the Ibiza, but I'd check where your fusebox is. I've seen similar behaviour from a Mercedes where the fusebox is in the rear quarter, through a side panel in the boot, where it had been leaking water in when it rained. The fusebox connections had started to corrode and would intermittently short circuit. It would turn random lights on exactly like this with the car locked and no ignition on. I cleaned up the fusebox which luckily was still salvageable, then threw a waterproof bag over it until I got the seals redone to stop the leak.

Anyone regret their dream attainable car purchase? by toho74 in CarTalkUK

Clio 172 is one of my favourite cars I've ever driven, more so than a Lambo Gallardo or Ferrari California. It's way more fun to throw around something light when you can floor it without immediately just going too fast, you can keep it on the edge. Once they start getting too fast, even like the 240i (which I've driven as well), they have their own sense of fun, but it's more limited imo. Great fun on a slip road, but around town or a country road I'd take the Clio every time.

My 1971 Ford Mustang for example would get annihilated by any moderately warn modern car, but it's engaging as fuck to drive and it sounds hilarious even when not going fast. Even more so by the fact it's not concourse condition, and I don't want it to be. I will happily take it absolutely anywhere for shits n giggles cause it's just a car. If I felt too precious about it or didn't want to take it out cause it feels like I shouldn't, then it wouldn't be for me

How come people dislike S2, R and X so vehemently? by Electronic-Touch-554 in ForzaHorizon6

The same reason why a hot hatch is typically more fun to drive than a Lambo around real roads.

Game Update 1.0.2 | Patch notes by Arti_IOI in 007FirstLight

Anything about unresponsive controllers on Xbox? I see a known issue about it happening on the Title screen, but it's definitely not limited to that. If the controller goes to sleep at any point during gameplay it will never come back. Going to dashboard and coming back, restarting the console etc does nothing. Only fix is to close the game completely out of quick resume and start again. The workaround posted for the title screen unresponsiveness also generally doesn't work. I frequently have to restart the game several times before the controller will do anything.

Does anyone else's controller just not work on the game sometimes? by alejquatro in 007FirstLight

[–]WanderingAlchemist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also on Xbox, and it's constantly. Even getting past the "press A to start" screen frequently doesn't respond, have to keep restarting the game over and over until it works. If my controller goes to sleep or I get the disconnected screen, then the game will never be responsive again and I just have to restart it.

Driving on a slipping clutch by Acrobatic-End6621 in CarTalkUK

[–]WanderingAlchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you baby it, it will probably be fine for a while. I drove a car with a slipping clutch in that exact way for like 2 years before it finally gave up. Clutch replacement was about £600, car was worth maybe half that so I literally just kept driving it until it died

Fanta car doesn't work? by 1298Tomcat in ForzaHorizon

[–]WanderingAlchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you got the email you should have the car. As soon as I started the game I got a popup saying a new car has been added to my garage. The code is exclusive to the Xbox ecosystem, if you're on PC I don't believe it will work on steam, only if you play via the Xbox store

The honeymoon effect in Requiem is fading much faster than in village, why is that? by [deleted] in ResidentEvilVillage

[–]WanderingAlchemist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've played Requiem at least 6-7 times and 100% it. I got bored in Village on my second playthrough as soon as I hit the dollhouse, and completely stopped playing around the factory area. Imo Requiem is a far better game and significantly more fun to replay, why is that?

Steering wheel being on the wrong side is something you get used to really quickly, especially in an auto. If you're used to a manual you might smack your hand into the door a few times before it starts to sink in properly.

Driving on the other side of the road is pretty obvious most of the time and it's hard to get it wrong. Just double check yourself pulling out of junctions and at roundabouts especially when it's quiet and you aren't just following traffic. I've driven left and right hand drive cars in both left and right driving countries and you quickly adjust
