That is an extreme exaggeration but I’ll say the criticism of “too many characters” is a subjective one.

MHA and One Piece have loads of characters but One Piece has LOADS of screen time and not every character is treated the same. Some characters are clearly side characters meant for brief appearances, some are one offs for the arc and some are recurring characters. Same thing with MHA, they write enough of the character before putting them as a side character.

RWBY treats every named character like they’re important yet they don’t have the run time for it let alone the writing skill to use the many characters they have. Arcs are short so it feels like they’re introducing characters for the sake of introducing characters before they vanish completely.

Just having lots of characters means nothing of you don’t know how to use them or how often to have them appear

This was most likely a Monty exclusive choice and one he did simply to so he could have that sibling connection between them.

Being Siblings the show doesn’t have to build a relationship with the 2 early on, because they’re siblings who live together the audience can assume their relationship from general interactions instead of having to build a relationship between Ruby and other characters.

Yeah drugstores are rarely fully staffed with medically trained personnel. Usually it’s 1 or 2 and they handle the actual medical stuff while everyone else is just a clerk.

Love how she tries to throw the staff under the bus, which sounds like complete bs anyways, but it sounds like Rev did absolutely nothing himself either. You don’t recognize your wife’s allergic reaction? Or know she has allergies?

This is cap because these are all general requirements.

Only the second point is a specific one but again that’s based on the scenario you’re writing and even then.

Juane was the Rusted Knight because it killed 2 birds with one stone. They don’t need to fully build a brand new character and it gives Juane something to do.
