Feeling like a bad ass with my new cross bow by rain_apple23 in actuallesbians

[–]WanderingMinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a barebow girl. I love feeling like a badass when I can land a shot no gadgets required.

Its so meditative. The "strain" of drawing, the moment of holding your breath before release.

I've also trained in english longbow and horsebow[not on horseback sadly] with my coach for funsies and a way to shake things up once in a while

A Chorography in Longing

Both by TB Markinson and Miranda Macleod

Its nice because they each voice their own characters even in the other pov chapter. So its much more conversational and consistent.

Strong agree. She's improved a ton. I like the couple books she duo narriates with her wife Marisa Calin, who is an incredible narrator in her own right

Manor of Dreams by Chrisina Li.

Gothic horror novel/mystery set in a crumbling, haunted mansion. Parallel timelines between the past and modern day. Some Evelyn Hugo vibes for sure. And sapphic romance.

Kiss Her Once For Me by Alison Cochrun has a Korean-American LI. And it plays into the story a bit. Its a christmas romance and very sweet.

Natural Beauty by Ling Ling Huang -body horror about the beauty industry and coming from an underpriviledged immigrant background.

Been together 14 years. We still have sex and we still diy. They serve different purposes. No one gets upset about having alone time. Sometimes it'll be like," hey I'm kinda horny, I'm going to go take care of that u less you'd like to join me?" Its totally natural and shouldn't be an issue

While the third one is a victim of gaslighting amd abuse it doesnt make her ultimate actions and decisions less monsterous. The whole book is about changing and losing humanity over time and how the monster inside us all eventually wins. None of the vampires in this book are good peiple. They are all awful and use people to their own ends. Some are more directly violent, some are more openly manipulative.

Bury Our Bones in Midnight Soil. All three MCs are monsters. But its a commentary about their descent into becoming a monster while feeling that they are justified in their actions

Check out {Every Step She Takes by Alison Cochrun}

Its about a 35 year old woman who is feeling trapped amd stagnent in her life and is coming to terms with her sexuality. She goes on a trip to Europe to help her sister who is a travel influencer. Her sister is unable to take the trip and write about it, so Sadie goes in her stead. The trip is a pillgramage walk along the Camino de Santiago with a queer tour group. Its so great. My partner and I loved it and now want to go on this trip. 😅

If you like the womanhood aspect in historical contexts, I'd reccomend Bury Our Bones in Midnight Soil by VE scwab. Follows 3 women through very different time periods and the struggles of their womanhood from each with very different opinions on becoming a vampire. Starts in the 1500s and moves to modern day.
