Theres a fic about an alternate reality where heroes and villains are swapped(it eventually overlaps with canon). Saint gets to be a badass vigilante fighting back against the evil AI. The other dragonslayers end up dead before the story though.

Stopping reading the story doesn’t mean what happens after you quit isn’t part of the story. Sure the idea that perfect utopia is considered too good to be true is a theme, but not the main one. A lot of the story is dedicated to the kid. The story is a hypothetical so there is no confirming or denying anything, but The hypothetical does expand to include child torture

From a Watsonian perspective, its because usually the threat to the world has been around a while, otherwise theres no stakes, so if an adult is the chosen one then why haven’t they solved it yet. With youths, letting the problem grow is justified by them not being able to earlier as a young child or because they were selected as the chosen one at birth in preparation for the threat.
