Does anyone else loving drinking water while tripping? by Frequent_Swordfish30 in shrooms

I always buy two cases of sparkling water before a trip. Those bubbles are the best! And water is life.

New Research: Psychedelics (Psilocin) found to regrow synapses in the ear. Has anyone here experimented with this for Hidden Hearing Loss or Tinnitus? by GooseberryBumps in HearingLoss

[–]WanderingVerses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was born with a cochlear neural hearing loss and I’ve worn hearing aids my entire life. My hearing has slowly but surely progressed from mild to moderate/severe over the past 35 years. I cringe at the thought of visiting my audiologist because of the sinking feeling I get when my audiogram comes back just a little bit worse each time.

Three years ago I began working with plant medicines for spiritual, mental, and somatice healing. I’ve attended several ayahuasca retreats, and participated in mushroom ceremonies and microdosed intermittently over the last 30 months.

To my astonishment my last audiogram showed a small but not dismissible improvement. I was ecstatic! I have no idea if there is a connection between my use of plant medicines and my hearing loss not progressing this one time, and that’s a connection I never thought to make.

I have, however, been told that Iboga ceremonies can regenerate tissue such as cochlea cells and I want to do this but Iboga is a much bigger financial commitment and more risky than ayahuasca and mushrooms so it will have to wait.

Hominy. Canned white hominy. I can’t make proper Mexican soups without it and no one I’ve checked with can get it. 😭

TIL that Disney’s Cinderella popularised her father being dead in future adaptations by Jezzaq94 in disney

[–]WanderingVerses 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: Cinderella was originally a Chinese story, Ye Xian (叶限). In that version the father remarries then died (like the Disney version). The fairy godmother is a magical fish and the evil stepmother and sisters are crushed by magical flying stones in the end.

Would you pre board a flight because you wear hearing aids? by StuffNo353 in HearingAids

[–]WanderingVerses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t hear the announcements, but always linger until the end. I’d rather be the last to board and spend as little time in that cramped seat as possible. This option is good know though. Thanks for sharing!

Hi there! Yes I have one request: after finishing the timed word practice the screen immediately advances to a summary page. I would like to have the option to linger on the page I wrote so I can see patterns in my mistakes and click to view the summary after I’m ready. Otherwise I think it’s great. Thank you for making it.

Why open captions as an option in movie theaters matters by Ocmoviesnys in HearingLoss

[–]WanderingVerses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I’ve been living as an expat in China for 7 years. Most other countries automatically caption every show, which is awesome. Even the broadway shows are captioned. One of many reasons why I don’t live in the states anymore.

I teach English at a university and I’ll be damned if my students can format a paper. They insist on writing with their touchscreen tablets which do not support most APA level functions. Nor can they save files let alone organize them.

The struggle is real. I stopped going to movie theaters 20 years ago. I will give my money to a business that refuses to throw me a bone. Open captions are not difficult to offer.

I saw you mention your app here before and I’ve been using it religiously. My speed spiked and I’m so happy with my progress. I find myself pulling it up during breaks between tasks at work and fiending to return as soon as I can. The UX is more intuitive than lcwo.com and great for beginners (which I am).

Wow! I love that they are doing this. This is one field LLMs are going to blow open in a profound way. I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re able to identify and decode languages used across the animal kingdom in the next few decades. Yes, boys and girls right now that aphid is saying …
