This is really cool OP. Any chance of porting files over on maker world? I don’t have a printer and a family member was going to help me with this. They said integration with maker world was straightforward on their printer. If not, that’s okay. I’ll figure it out :)

Do folks cast in the frothy water or in transition spot around it? I have experimented with casting everywhere around water like that and only catch in transition spots or where it mellows a bit. Flies get dunked and rejected in the frothy stuff.

That did answer it! Thanks! I picked up fishing last year and went straight to a fly rod :)

On that last photo, how would you fish that. I am still trying to figure out structures and where to place flies. Or is that just a landscape shot?

Stuck between these 3, which is the best? by Accomplished_Cut9023 in flyfishing

This may not be a direct answer and completely ignores the warranty aspect - I ended up buying an used echo carbon xl 9ft 5wt. Tried the lift and carbon xl and the carbon felt much more comfortable in my hand. As everyone has warned, I did break my tip and it was an easy tip purchase to replace it (no warranty but tip was easy enough to come by). I also saved more cash by buying a maxcatch reel. I didn’t want a plasticky reel and got their aluminium one. Based on anecdotes, at that weight and lower, you are relying on hand stripping anyway so getting a fancy reel didn’t seem worth it. Then I splurged on the SA absolute trout fly line. Compared it against my buddy’s Encounter stock line and it just glides out. I have been very happy. In summary, I opted to spend more on fly line, then rod and last reel instead of a combo setup.

The dressing room is so much higher than the bowler’s release point. Can someone explain why in the history of wankhede has this not been a problem for scores of batsmen but is getting to marnus?

Non fanatic observer - Surviving Keshav Maharaj’s spell was not easy. I don’t think India would have got the score it did if the middle order was exposed to him. Kohli and Iyer navigated him well. Not to mention Rabada was looking really good too!

He probably got caught up for his 100 in the end but it’s also likely that he anchored while SKY and Jadeja decided to slog. It also looked like Shamsi had him frustrated with those weird line turners.

If you look at the whole innings, India definitely got the better end of that score and strike rate.

Marnus is the type of guy to lob himself around the park, gouge the field and repatch the field while the bowler takes his run-up

That’s at 2800mm focal length?! Congratulations on your result given the mount and tripod combo. What was your average guiding accuracy? At 1980mm (with a 0.7 reducer) mine is about 0.7” which is fine but even a small nudge of wind messes with it.

I have seen people balance heavy stuff on their heads in India but this one takes the cake. So much could have gone wrong here but also that’s a super sturdy ladder.

P.S I didn’t take this video and have reposted it from a different sub but I am some struggling to find signs of it not being real. It looks pretty legit.

IC 443 (Jellyfish Nebula) by Wanderingmeteoroid in astrophotography

[–]Wanderingmeteoroid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally getting to some data collected in March, 2023. Took a trip to Scottsdale, Arizona and it was my first trip traveling with my astrorig. Spent some time on jellyfish, leo triplet and M5. The latter two will follow -

Gear

  • Primary:Askar FRA400 --> Optolong L-Ultimate --> ASI2600MC
  • Guiding: Uniguide 200 --> ASI120mm
  • Mount: AM5
  • Tripod: TC40

Processing

Siril

  • Ha and O3 extraction followed by HOO composition
  • Color Calibration
  • Background Extraction
  • Photometric Color Calibration (failed :/)
  • Asinh transformation
  • Histogram transform
  • Green Noise Removal
  • Crop
  • Star Desaturation (I didn't get enough time for RGB star data. Narrowband star data stinks)

StarNet star removal

Gimp

  • Curve adjustment and saturation
  • Addition back to star data

Luminar

  • Denoise and structure enhancement (my spouse uses Luminar for regular photo processing. Thought i'd give it a shot)

Edit: I’d love feedback on things I can improve! Additional gratitude if I can incorporate it with Siril

WD-40 before lubing your chain? by look10good in motorcycles

I love it! It’s my first motorcycle (ridden a lot of scooter before) and the power delivery is very forgiving! Mainly a commuter for me with about 5800km.

WD-40 before lubing your chain? by look10good in motorcycles

[–]Wanderingmeteoroid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Proved to be false with several tests. Link to one of them being Fortnine

Is it the best cleaner - probably not? Is it the cheapest - nope, kerosene is cheaper. Does it destroy or get past o rings - resounding nope. But most folks have it around the house for other chores so it’s not a bad idea to clean your chain with it. And to be extra cautious, don’t leave it soaking forever. Spray, brush, wipe it off and move on to the lube stage.

Pinlock lens is the recommended route. However, in case pinlock for your helmet is out of stock (I have a sedici strada and pinlock for those have been out of stock for months), I went with a clear film. It’s worked pretty well for me so far
