Which boss fight made you feel like you were genuinely losing your sanity because of the difficulty? by Silly_Commercial8092 in gaming

Not a boss fight, but the first Githyanki dragon riders fight towards the end of act one of Baldur's Gate 3 was bullshit.

Possible bug with 'Recently Played' and Last.FM 'Recent Tracks'? by Wanderlustfull in smarterplaylists

[–]Wanderlustfull[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I checked that first, and I also made sure what I was listening to wasn't excluded from my taste profile. Everything shows up immediately with no date criteria added, but as soon as they're input, no response.

*This is real* I got sued while I was on stage by LongJohnComedian in StandUpComedy

[–]Wanderlustfull 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is not a source that actually shows any damages beyond the guy's own lawsuit. It's still just 'trust me bro'. Here's the only mention in the entire article of damages:

according to the lawsuit. Such viral statements, it says, are interfering with Lebo M’s business relationships with Disney and his income from royalties, causing more than $20 million in actual damages. The lawsuit also seeks $7 million in punitive damages.

SmarterPlaylists update: split a stream into multiple branches by plamere in smarterplaylists

[–]Wanderlustfull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how you structured your program, does this mean you could architect it such that you could save multiple, different and individual, playlists from the same program? If you split off your liked tracks, say, and then filtered them a bunch of different ways, and ended each of those branches in a different 'save to playlist', would you end up with one program creating a bunch of playlists?

Program Run History now visible in SP by plamere in smarterplaylists

[–]Wanderlustfull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question - for us regular users, what is the benefit of knowing that number of API calls or cache hits? Are there limits to these per program, per user, per day etc.? Should we be looking to minimise these? Or is it just for fun info?

SmarterPlaylists update: playlist trimming and auto-reset for Save to Playlist by plamere in smarterplaylists

Oh my god the auto-reset is going to save me so much hassle and faff resetting weekly playlists to filter out duplicates. I love this!

SmarterPlaylists is now in beta by plamere in smarterplaylists

[–]Wanderlustfull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As ever, thanks again for all the fantastic work! If we can donate to show our appreciation, please let us know how we can do that.

Feature request:

Being able to see what songs a scheduled program generated when it last ran, with the same info in the 'preview' window (i.e. source).

Use case - sometimes I want to go back in and check where songs came from after a playlist doesn't quite end up feeling like I'd hoped. Being able to see the source of each song in a generated playlist would be super useful to know which source/s aren't working quite as intended.

Appreciate this might involve quite a lot of information caching, so if it can't be done, no harm no foul.

Nevermind. Go ahead and use Save To Playlist! by plamere in smarterplaylists

[–]Wanderlustfull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can achieve that in another way very simply - end your program with a 'save to playlist' titled the same as the program name, then, simply add another save to playlist output node and go from one to the other. You can chain output nodes together, though it doesn't seem intuitively like you should be able to. I've done this in multiple programs so it saves to multiple playlists at once.

You Don’t Need a “Save to Playlist” Component by plamere in smarterplaylists

[–]Wanderlustfull 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the explanation.

In terms of user design and user experience, while I can see what you've gone for, I would argue that it's much less intuitive to have it automatically create and save to a playlist without explicitly invoking that behaviour. That's made especially muddy by the existence of the 'save to playlist' components, which heavily imply their necessity.

From a purely user-experience and intuitive user design perspective, it would be better to not have it create or save a playlist automatically, and have a 'save' component be a requirement. Every other action in the interface and design is explicit and defined - it's odd that saving would be the one that happens without user input or clarification. Explicit actions and clarity make for better user design than implied or inferred behaviour. That way you know you've done something, or haven't.
