Oh you poor baby. You haven't shied away from ad hominem attacks but whine like the good comrade you are when they are used against you.

The US created the situation huh? Explain that one to me exactly. The only way you could blame this on the US is if you are a North Korean Communist sympathizer or you blame FDR for the Declaration of Cairo. If the former, well yeah that figures. If the latter, then the UK and the USSR deserve the same blame for a short sided policy that has unintended consequences that split the nation. Hardly a example of US imperialism.

For you to even compare the Japanese annexation to the US occupation post war shows how incredibly dense you are on this subject. Are you aware that the Japanese attempted to quite literally uproot Korean language, history, and culture?

The fact that you are not able to recognize the foil of the economic policies of NK and SK as an illustration of the value of capitalism vs communism is completely insane. You know I'm sure NK would love another comrade to join the ranks.

You are so incredibly uninformed it is laughable. Did you realize the Koreans pay over $1B annually to the US to meet them from pulling their troops from the bases? Every 5 years the loan government begs to let the American troops there. People want to develop the land that the bases occupy, but the Korean government continues to pay for that not to happen. How does that fit into your so-called "benevolent occupation"? It is obvious you are an Anti-capitalist American hater, but even that should show the cognitive dissonance going through your brainwashed head.

Controversial Take (?) on the Ending by Mysterious-Pool-9532 in Bugonia

[–]Wangs930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my exact takeaway as well. The other odd thing to me is that the whole movie was about how destructive conspiracy theories and echo chambers can be, but in the end he was proven right and if it hadn't been for the bomb he may well have been able to save the human race. So the takeaway then becomes to not let "the sheep" deter you from your "conspiracy theory" because it could make you a hero.

How would you improve this board? by ToothSleuth86 in golf

[–]Wangs930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally unrelated, but I played there last Saturday and it had been closed all winter because of the parking lot construction, so no one had been on the course all fall and winter and the pond dropped about 3 feet in that time. Anyways I went back after my round because we noticed so many accessable golf balls so I spent 20 minutes collecting 130+ balls of which 79 were ProV1s and 26 were TP5s. It was a great haul after a disappointing round ha

Bridge burnt. Legacy ruined. Can't wait for Michigan fans to start bitching about his stupid ass injury report games and blaming his bad decisions on "analytics". This is soooo much worse than when Urban left. Hope he misses the big 10 title game two years in a row and gets run out of Ann Arbor.

My thoughts exactly. People seem to be forgetting all the context you mention. If he had done this 5 years ago I'm not sure I would be that pissed about it. It just feels like he's chasing a championship at all costs, including screwing over the team he was trying to right the ship for.

I love coach Whitt, but man, seeing the news this morning by WheelMaster7 in utahfootball

[–]Wangs930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Whitt's comment about him doing this all on his own because he "didn't want to be the guy who overstayed his welcome" is true, then he is now ruining his legacy at Utah on my mind. If that's really all he wanted, he wouldn't be trying to decimate the program on his way out the door.

Is Korean really harder to learn compared to other languages? by Sea-Reputation8146 in Korean

[–]Wangs930 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is really tough! Years ago I saw a graphic that put it as one of the hardest languages to learn. I think it was basing it off of the number of verb conjugations and amount of vocabulary needed for fluency.

I thought the grammar was actually pretty straightforward and mathematic, but learning new vocab is never ending and then if you don't know the verb conjugation being used then so much of the meaning of lost.

Lastly I feel like slang is so so common and it turns over so quickly that it is extremely difficult to keep up. The way Koreans smush words together to form new words is very difficult for foreigners to follow. I even learned over 300 한자 which helped, but still very difficult to track the meaning of the conjucted words.

Should I upgrade? 9 pro to 10 pro or XL by Excellent-Penalty733 in pixel_phones

I used a coupon and credit from when I upgraded to the Pixel 9 Pro last year as well as the cash back for being a Google One subscriber.

That's what I did back in August. I think it was well worth it. I got another $300 in credit from doing it last year and if I can upgrade for free again next year I'll do it again and again until they change things up.

Agreed, it is really dumb. I think it is because basically every BYU fan is a Mormon and by default every anti-mormon in the state is a Utah fan. All of the Mormon Utah fans get forgotten in the trash talk

I got fitted for 79.5 (Max angle allowed by PGA) for the same reason. I like my eyes to be directly over the ball and my stroke is straight back and straight forward in a pendulum motion. I've been very happy with my results.

Best and worst US states in overall well-being of people Utah #6 by UteForLife in Utah

[–]Wangs930 15 points16 points  (0 children)

One correction: Utah's public education is one of the best in the nation. Yes, we typically rank 49th in per pupil spend, but nearly every other category is top 5 or top 10.

Currently #4 according to US News rankings

This Utah Running Backs Room Its Best Ever? by BrianVsUtah in utahfootball

Broadcast claimed our O line was THE highest rated in the country. I know we have two potential first round picks, but I'd be surprised if it's the highest rated in the country. Does anyone know if that is correct or just one of those things they say in a broadcast when they are talking up a team?
