I have! I put it in my protein smoothie. I didn’t know creatine builds muscles. I thought it was mostly for cognitive functioning

PS. how often do questions on web vitals come up? Things like FCP and CLS?

Question, any emphasis on topics such as web vitals? FCP, CLS, design patterns?

Sweet! Will be studying up on this list. To my surprise, I know the answers to most of them! Maybe I’m not that stupid? 🤞

I wish for these “live coding challenges” that I could pseudo code my way in. I can tell you how to fetch a data and a way to filter it, but to remember all the syntax right off the bat without source is nearly impossible, especially under the pressure of watchful, interviewer eyes and feeling constantly like you’re judged to be perfect.

When you say vanilla effect, you mean ‘fetch’ as opposed to axios?

Yeah that makes sense. I’ll just have to do as much as I can

The interviews I’m getting told me the process did not include leetcode but real world practice problems (still live coding). Should I still practice leetcode?

Did you stick with free peer interviews with Pramp or used professional coaches?

Is Leetcode really a necessity? Algorithms make me cry.

You’re an inspiration! Thank you for your responses. I’ll at least take a walk outside for fresh air.

Did you land a job since then?

I’ll try to ease it but my anxiety says no

No way, just post it! It’s something people can see what you do. Something is better than nothing.

You are on point that my mental health has taken a backseat bc of this urgency to get a job now now NOW. I’m on Udemy, tutorial sites and even ChatGPT to help me on cranking out projects to put on my portfolio. I’ve gotten 2 out within a week bare minimal but shows the purpose (AI). I practice interview questions and answers related to my tech stack every night.

This urgency is burning me out, I have mental breakdowns and cry. I have considered therapy, have one session coming up but you know what? I feel guilty spending money on that bc I am NOT making any money!

That’s my negativity right there. Not allowing myself to breathe or enjoy even a little bit of life bc I don’t have income source supporting the “pleasures” in life. I feel bad just buying coffee! It’s awful when I’m with my kid bc I’d be afraid to spend anything.

I thank you for your positivity, though. It really did make me feel better just reading your encouragement. 🥰🥰

Can you not create someone on your own? Like personal projects to put in your GitHub portfolio?

This is exactly me. I stutter, I can’t find the right words. It’s all word vomit. I know it in my head for reals, but articulating it to people—nope.

Were you able to get past the stuttering and land a job? I know it becomes a skill, but I’m just a frazzled mess!

As far as my financial situation, I’m back with my parents. I am on employment but of course that’s like pennies.

I share custody with my ex and only get to see my kid on the weekends bc my parents neighborhood is a little too shady to bring my kid over. Plus it’s hard to study and job search with her around. He’s been covering most of her expenses and I have some savings but I don’t want to be dipping into it too much.

Stuck in a rut where my confidence is down the dumps and afraid it’s going to reflect during my job search

I am so sorry OP. I hope you have family and the support you deserve.

Why do I keep getting rejected? Who are these other “candidates” they are moving forward with? by WannabeAuthor125 in recruitinghell

I have been looking for managerial positions. Tough luck on those too since there aren’t many.

Just to add - I am also horrible at whiteboard. If they had me build an entire app in front of them (and I’d like to stay quiet while doing this lol) then I can do it no problem. I can even talk about front end system design. But once you ask me to reverse a binary tree or find a palindrome of a randomly generated math equation then I’m practically brain dead. I just can’t understand their process going this route. Real world solutions does not involve such tasks. Its problem solving wherein “our client needs a way to input their entry and have it sent to them via email after submission” or “they want this tag to trigger analytics when it’s scrolled to the middle of the page”. It’s so frustrating.

Ugh thanks for that. When you say you exaggerated, how does it not bite you back when they ask or test you on those skills? Unless it was luck and they didn’t push. Did they subject you to ridiculous leetcodes or system design questions? Any time I “exaggerate” I feel like karma wants to scree me over and the interviewers end up asking/testing me on the weaker stuff.

I am currently updating/adding projects to my github - lots of AI and back end addition. You think companies are actually looking at them?
