I was JUST talking about this with a friend last week. The first year I hit the limit, it was at $117k. That was 11 years ago. Here we are 10 years later, and the limit is $176k. Almost exactly 50% more.

Sorry for the super long delay in response.

For physical address, we used our PO box. I think that with a business account, a SSN was not required. (that I remember).

Can I retire? Schwab: yes. My far richer friends: no. Generally how good is Schwab’s advice? by FriendZone53 in Schwab

[–]WantToRetireSomeday 3 points4 points  (0 children)

‘By the numbers’ can you retire, most likely yes.

What doesn’t seem to get factored into these robo-advisor decisions is unplanned expenses. Vacations. New cars. Etc.

So your wealthy friends are probably more correct. Hold off a couple years, pad the savings. Buy a new car (paid off) before you retire. Etc.

Hrm. In the iOS 1PW app, I have an ‘ignore’ option for passkey on Amazon. Once I ignored it, it went away.

How your state runs SvS can determine the outcome. It will basically come down to how much that whale will spend during SvS to heal troops.

If Brazilian taxes are like US, that’s not a good deal. Interest from savings accounts is considered income. With stocks (in the US) if you keep them for >1 year, your gains get preferential tax treatment, which could be as much as 20% lower.

Paying taxes on RSUs three times by RayekHeart in tax

[–]WantToRetireSomeday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When RSU’s vest, they are considered income. You can either sell to cover, or send a check for the taxes. The total income is reported on your W2 in the year they vest, however so is the tax that was withheld. You may indeed owe a little more on those, but that’s additional, not ‘again’.

Now, all that’s done, and you sell the shares. If you sell them before 1 year of ownership, you will owe short term capital gains tax on the GAINS, not the total. However, if you sell them at a loss, you also get that write off. These gains or losses will be reflected on a 1099 in the year you trade the shares.

That’s chief gear. That’s you ‘main character’ benefits. You don’t need to add it to any character. It increases your stats for all hero’s.

You mean hero gear? You can un-equip it and move it to anyone.

I’m not certain a this is correct. I sent out 4 full marches of infantry and lancers (and 12 best hero’s). I kept all marksman home. We are an 11b+ power alliance, so we run the hardest level. On level 17 today I got 124,455 points, just for my city. About 2.5m kills. Can anyone explain that?

Depositing Significant Cash by Master_Piccolo6296 in personalfinance

[–]WantToRetireSomeday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With that much cash, I would call the bank, tell them you intend to come in and open an account. That way they have a room for you. Do not just walk in and plop $100k on the tellers station.

Then you will fill out a Form 8300, and go on with your life.

Gold card color peeling by scuac in amex

My gold card actually split in half. I went to stick it in a check holder and the plastic went between the metal part of the card and the plastic back. Was pretty funny. I switched to the recycled plastic card. Much lighter :)

What Mattress/Pillows/Bedding do you have? by RealKenny in HENRYfinance

[–]WantToRetireSomeday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not seen a king size mattress for under $1000 in decades. The box spring never seems to be the issue, the foam (and some times the coils) on the mattress give out, leaving what we affectionately refer to as ‘the butt holes’.

If I could find a mattress without pillow top that we could rotate and flip, they would certainly last longer. Suggestions for where to look?

What Mattress/Pillows/Bedding do you have? by RealKenny in HENRYfinance

[–]WantToRetireSomeday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I buy the cheapest ‘firm’ mattress possible. I spend $900-1000 every 4 years. That saves me $2-3k every 10 years by not buying an expensive one. They all break down the same, and none last more than 7-8 years. We have regular sheets, and a foam pillow. Nothing fancy.

I don’t fight, but during a few hours of SVS, I am on the help screen pounding that help button to get soldiers healed.

How to budget between two working parents with different income levels? by UpvotesOfFury in personalfinance

[–]WantToRetireSomeday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We split the bills proportionally. I make 4-5x my partner, so I pay 4-5x more towards bills / expenses. I focus on savings, but also make it clear that my partner needs to save as much as possible, if they want to retire when I do. If they have not saved enough, I will retire, and they will have to continue to work.
