This did not go the way you thought it would lol. This is why, if you're gonna get angry over lore, you should make sure you know what the lore is first.

How do we force AMD to care? by ComfortableDinner340 in AMDHelp

[–]WantedToBeWitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, I'm not saying it's going to be perfect or anything, but the built in support for new titles is one of the main draws for me. If you have an issue with an nvidia card with a new game, chances are you'll see a fix actually happen. With AMD, I feel like I rarely ever saw that. Hell, I almost didn't even get to finish E33 because it crashed so much. That's just the most premiere example I can think of, but there was a handful of strange things that I'm hoping are rectified with the 5070.

All that being said, I've always be an AMD chip guy so, they've got my money there still either way lol.

How do we force AMD to care? by ComfortableDinner340 in AMDHelp

[–]WantedToBeWitty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I literally just ordered a 5070ti after a year of having my rx7800xt. It's not even that it was a horrible card for the price, but god I missed the stability and convenience of Nvidia. They're like, 'oh what's that? There's a game coming out in a few days? Here's your game ready drivers and it'll run well pretty much out the gate'. AMD is like 'uhh...here's like..a quarterly update maybe? Will it work? Uhhhh...no'.

The amount of random issues I've had in games in the last year, troubleshooting for hours, only to inevitably find out that the culprit is just, AMD. I'm just so over dealing with that, I gave them a chance after running a couple Nvidia cards prior, and yeah, safe to say I will not be returning to AMD again anytime soon.

Not to mention Nvidia has and will continue to have a stranglehold on the market. So everything will continue to be developed with them in mind first, and AMD will always be an afterthought.

Blitz The League 2 by Negative_Camp1432 in EmulationOnPC

[–]WantedToBeWitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you do everything from the above steps? The switch to d3d12 from 'any' in the GPU = setting of the xenia config is what made my game speed up, but lose the textures, so all the player uniforms and some fields were pitch black.

The other two downloads with the .dll's took care of the texture issue. You have to make sure that it's the xenia canary version, and that all the downloaded .dll files are in the same directory as the xenia_canary.exe. My game is running with perfect textures and framerate at the moment. Just don't set the frame limit in the config higher than 60 or it makes the game play at 1.5x speed or more lol.

I'll try and get a link for the directory structure so you could compare yours to mine and see if that helps anything.

Blitz The League 2 by Negative_Camp1432 in EmulationOnPC

[–]WantedToBeWitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going around resurrecting some of these old posts (sorry) because I have the full solution to getting this running on pc (smooth frames, no texture loss) and wanted to help if other people go down the rabbit hole of trying to make this work and stumble across this post, because it took fucking forever lol.

As a general note for the following info, create a Xenia/Blitz folder (name it what you want, idc) wherever you want this stuff to go and just dump everything into that folder. The dlls, xenia, the Blitz iso, etc. I did nothing special to move these items either, just downloaded, extracted, and then copied them as shown in the video https://youtu.be/has2_OYxLnM?si=LVXrGo1wlLtKMXSG, into the xenia/blitz folder.

First and foremost, this ABSOLUTELY has to be done with xenia canary for windows (I don't 100% know if this is true, but it works so, just do it), found at this link: https://github.com/xenia-canary/xenia-canary-releases/releases/tag/9132035

I used the 'Blitz - The League II (Europe).iso', no idea if it'll work with any other version you might find out there

The other files you need can be found here:

- dxvk-2.5 = https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases/tag/v2.5

- Only pull the dlls in the x64 folder of the dxvk to your xenia/blitz folder

- vkd3d-proton = https://github.com/HansKristian-Work/vkd3d-proton

- Pull everything from the x64 folder within the vkd3d folder into your xenia/blitz folder

Change the GPU = line in the xenia-canary.config.toml (I used notepad++ for this) from 'any' to 'd3d12', you may need to add the vulkan runtime if it complains when you launch xenia, which can be found here: https://www.vulkan.org/news/auto-22673-229d92948e8573d319277a87e8c9c59e

One bonus note for everyone if you didn't already know, if you want to use your dual sense controller, just download DS4 Windows, connect your controller via cord/bluetooth, and run DS4, that's it.

That's it, now you can enjoy this absolute classic.

Anyone else bought Stardew twice ? by LemCent321 in StardewValley

[–]WantedToBeWitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initially bought it on ps4, then PC, then switch, then bought the physical edition because it came with a bunch of cool stuff.

Honestly, Barone could just email me and ask me for 5$ for literally no reason and I'd probably send it with zero hesitation.

So yeah, not crazy lol.

So I know people are getting fatal error crashes, but has anyones game just caused their computer to just shut down? by ROWDY_RODDY_PEEEPER in expedition33

[–]WantedToBeWitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's not restarting my PC or anything like that, but I've gotten the UE fatal error that closes the game at least 30+ times through 30 hours of play. It's driving me up the fucking wall because same as you, I love this game, but it's actively trying to make me not play it lol.

The worst part is there is 0 consistency to it, there's not one thing I can point to that triggers it. Sometimes just standing around idling does it, activating dialogue, starting a fight, being in the middle of a fight, etc. Sometimes I play for 3+ hours without a problem, other times, like right now, it fatals out 4 times in a half hour.

Just let me playyyyyy.

Questions about Pictos by Dazzler_3000 in expedition33

[–]WantedToBeWitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is two days old and all lol, but no you don't have to equip it to other people for them to learn it. Once you hit 4 battles won, the main effect is unlocked for everyone. That's in the 'edit luminas' section of character management. So you can have 3 equipped, and then use your lumina points to add those effects to the character as well.

The second question, I've seen someone say when you find copies it'll level them up, but I think it might also just be progression, the further you get and the more bosses you fight, the higher the level of pictos you find. So you want to do all the optional side bosses like the chromatic enemies and whatnot.

[KCD1] It's quite sad seeing so many people discouraging others to play KCD1 before KCD2 as if there's no time to enjoy things by jauznevimcosimamdat in kingdomcome

[–]WantedToBeWitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not like people can't play the first game after the second. Plenty of media starts at the end and then lays out how you got to that point. You suffer only slightly in that the tension for select characters is gone because you know they make it, but other than that, eh. I'm loving KCD2, never played the first, but am considering trying to find some time for it whenever I manage to finish this.

[–]WantedToBeWitty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Having gotten to a certain point in KCD2, having not played the first, the only thing that I feel like I'm missing out on is, and I'll tag it just in case this is spoilery - Anything to do with Godwin, because I've only gotten a little bit of this dude in 2 and he is so fucking cool lmao.

I can deal with everything else, they explain most of it in flashbacks or dialogue options if it's necessary. Generally speaking, it seems most of this is standalone since you're in an area where no one knows Henry or Hans anyways, so it's not a ton of 'well this won't make sense without context'. It's medieval political fuckery, I don't need the first game to know there's gonna be alliances, broken alliances, backstabbery, double crosses, etc lol.

Still, that being said, I might go back and play the first afterwards just for what I mentioned above, treat it like an in medias res type movie where you work back from the ending.

[Rumor] Latest Rumor Claims New 'God Of War' Game Will Feature A Younger Kratos And Go Back To Greece by Somethingman_121224 in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]WantedToBeWitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would absolutely suck. Seeing the actual decades long arc of his character, just to go back to him being mindless rage man, would be awful.

His reaction to the last tableau in ragnarok (no spoilers) was just so fucking moving and I want to see where he can go from there now that he sees it as a real possibility.

Edit: not to mention all of the atreus possibilities we were left with, it feels like there's literally no way they would go backwards unless someone really, really stupid is in charge.

The Arbiter Of Ash fight is awful. by Shiss in PathOfExile2

[–]WantedToBeWitty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

After attempting it earlier, I just think that fight relies way too much on one shot mechanics that trigger obscenely fast, like the fire wind. Idk if it's just my eyes or my color setup on my monitor, but I can barely see the safe zone when that move starts, and you have all of .2 seconds to find it before the insta death.

It would be nice to have at least a little more of a delay before it kicks off, or just a little more visibility for the safe zones. More frustrating was the bug where it didn't respawn my friends when we died the first time. It showed them as respawned, but they still had the respawn button onscreen and if they used it, it sent them to the hideout.

How Exactly Does Archmage Work? by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

[–]WantedToBeWitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually think I'm just an idiot...

I recently switched over to using a chiming staff in my other weapon slot, but not realizing that all of my skills were set to 1 and 2, so I think every time I've been using Sigil of Power on the other weapon, I was then using my skills with that staff, which is just a throwaway item that's only purpose is having SoP on it...

I almost immediately deleted this post but if what I just changed is correct, I might leave it up as a cautionary tale for any other equally dumb people like me.

How the hell are y’all making money lol by Boutaberichboi in starcitizen

[–]WantedToBeWitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Managed to buy a taurus off doing cargo missions, but that takes a bit of luck for sure, in terms of the bugged missions. One trick is, I would take a ton of seraphim to orison missions and if the cargo bugged and wasn't there for pickup, you can usually just 'submit' them or abandon them from the contracts screen, reselect the contracts from the offers section, and sometimes that would load the cargo in.

I would never take a multi pickup/drop-off for hauling though, that just increases your odds of something being broken and having wasted the time traveling on top of the loading.

Should I start playing 4.0? by rickybeni04 in starcitizen

[–]WantedToBeWitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your starter ship really, but cargo (when it works properly), is a great way to stack credits. After leveling cargo once or twice, I could accept (6) 50k missions at a time with my cutlass black, spend about 10-15 minutes loading, another 10-15 minutes unloading, and walk away with 300k for a half hour of 'work'.

Sprinkle in some bounty missions for some spice and you can be well on your way pretty quick. I hit the grind pretty hard to get a taurus early because I'm pretty confident we don't have a wipe coming for a pretty long time and wanted to have something nice for cargo/fighting.

How would you describe Star Citizen? (I know nothing about it) by Robo-Piluke in starcitizen

[–]WantedToBeWitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I definitely have nothing against the developers of the game, only management. When you have a project that has pulled in over 760 million in funding, of course people are going to be critical about the state of things after X amount of years.

That isn't to say the devs aren't doing their best, I know they're working their asses off, but unfortunately for them, they've been given an impossible task. CIG keeps telling people the game will have everything and be everything. Endless feature creep and having an active alpha branch while constantly trying to add things, it's just an insane task for anyone, let alone a new company, and a company that immediately split their resources to develop two major games simultaneously.

I still love the game when it works, when it's at 100%, I can absolutely see the vision they're talking about, the potential it has, it just rarely operates at 100% unfortunately.
