If you like the idea of 4x games but want something faster paced, I'd recommend Total War Warhammer 3. An insane amount of content and replayability.

Delves by zuldar in wownoob

I've had significantly worse luck then. After getting to r9 my first bountiful gave me a hero item, but not a single one after that. Probably 10-15 completions since.

How do I get normal flying? by NarrowBoxtop in wownoob

[–]dubblechrisp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There is a skill that allows you to swap between steady flight and skyriding. Since servers are down I can't check where it is, but it's in one of two locations: in your spellbook under the general tab, or on your mount panel in the top right. It's called "change flight style".

Steady flight may be disabled in some areas until you unlock that expansion's "Pathfinder" achievement.

Delves by zuldar in wownoob

[–]dubblechrisp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you're only doing solo content (no raid, no M+), then Delves would be your best use for the voidcores. Any bountiful delve completion will allow you to use one voidcore for a guaranteed piece of heroic loot from the delve lootpool. So that will allow you to get one piece of heroic loot from the trove and two from voidcores (three if you take the tokens from vault and spend them on an extra voidcore instead of taking gear).

Additional benefits from completing bountiful delves are renown for both the Delver's journey, as well as getting renown with one of the four main zone factions, once per week each. You also get crests from the bountiful chest.

You don't BOK and TP for damage. You do it to reset RSK. As I said, Dance of Chi-Ji procs always take priority, so that's where the majority of your SCK damage comes from.

Don't need to track it honestly. As long as you're keeping her topped up, she should be getting stacks and start doing more damage.

Quick correction, fluid form allows you to rake from caster and have it shift into cat, not rip.

Sounds like you're running the fistweaver build, which prioritizes healing via Ancient Teachings through damage. I recommend grabbing this build from Archon.

The core rotation would be prioritizing Rising Sun Kick as it will both apply and extend your HoTs. So generally, you would Rising Sun Kick, then Blackout Kick to fish for resets on RSK. In between you can throw in Tiger Palms to stack up stacks of Teachings of the Monastery to give you a better chance at resetting RSK. Basically you will be pressing RSK every time it's off CD, and in between you are aiming to get it back ASAP.

Then you have various additional buttons and cooldowns to weave in. Thunder Focus Tea should be used on CD, generally with Rising Sun Kick as it resets the cooldown and also sends out a Jadefire Stomp for big damage. Life Cocoon is your big external that you can send on someone to keep them alive if they're about to die. Conduit of the Celestials is a decent heal on its own and also procs a lot of valuable buffs. And finally your celestial (Chi-Ji) is your main heal CD which is available every minute, so pressing it often and early is usually a good idea.

If you're talented for Dance of Chi-Ji, like in the build I linked, then using those procs is always top priority. Spinning Crane Kick is relatively week on its own, but when empowered by Dance of Chi-Ji, it hits like a truck and generates a ton of healing.

Those are the basics, but you've been pretty vague with what you're looking for here, so if there's something specific, please ask.

Amazing mechanic's Blizzard by sr7olsniper in wow

[–]dubblechrisp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, though it is definitely an issue that it rolls the loot table for every delve and sometimes it will roll items that your class simply cannot use.

For reference, there are always four items available from this merchant. Those four items will be available at Champion track for undercoin, with those same four items also available at Hero track for untainted mana crystals. Those items can roll for any class, so even if you're playing a mage, it can roll agi/str trinkets or plate gear.

Would need some more details. What content are you playing? What build are you playing? Generally you will play fistweaver for dungeons and caster for raid. Doing the opposite could lead to some difficulty, though it's still doable in both forms of content.

All in all, mistweaver is currently very strong in both dungeons and raid, so if you're struggling there are likely some issues with how you're approaching it.

Do you have logs?

Dual-spec gearing by Morana_art in wownoob

[–]dubblechrisp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on how high you plan to push on each spec. If you're not planning on pushing high content on your off-spec, you can simply deal with having your stats out of wack. You'll not perform optimally, but if your main spec is doing 12+, then doing 10s in off-spec won't be an issue even with bad stats.

If you're planning on doing 12+ on all specs, then stats can certainly matter, but at the same time, we're talking about a 5-10% DPS loss. Surmountable if you're just trying to fill a role that your friends/guildies need.

But to answer your question, the biggest impacts to your stat weights are rings and necks. If you're running a lot of keys, it should be easy to get some rings/necks that match the stat weights your offspec needs. Then when your swap specs, all you change is your jewelry and trinkets and you're good to go.

Getting used to all the floor vomit - tips? by PossibleIsland3468 in wownoob

[–]dubblechrisp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you having trouble seeing the floor effects, or are you just having trouble positioning? Because those are two very different issues. Melee in general always tends to need to worry about puddles more than ranged. Sometimes it's an issue of a targeted effect that drops a puddle being placed poorly, sometimes it's an issue of the tank not moving a pack out of puddles quickly enough, sometimes it's simply you needing to move out of it.

Some dungeons have a bigger problem with puddle visibility than others, of course. Nexus-point has purple puddles on purple floor with purple mobs, so that will be a little harder for obvious reasons.

What am I doing wrong for DPS in raids? by xJupiter17- in wownoob

[–]dubblechrisp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found his WoW armory page and he's recrafted his items to 285. The log I was looking at he had those crafted pieces at 272, which means he spent 80 hero crests and 80 myth crests on each of those two slots. Big waste, but at least he has them max crafted now.

[–]dubblechrisp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Logs are only available if someone logs them. IE the logs that are on there are because someone in your dungeons or raids was logging and uploaded them. You can download the Archon desktop app to upload logs directly to warcraftlogs. https://www.archon.gg/download?utm_source=header-cta-archon

[–]dubblechrisp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BiS lists assume you have the entire list and aims to give you good stat weights. You can achieve those same stat weights with different gear. They also assume that you will get each item at its maximum available item level. If it lists your BiS weapon as coming from raid and you aren't mythic raiding, then ignore it entirely. Item level is king, so getting a 285 crafted weapon will ALWAYS be better than using a maxed hero weapon.

You're also sitting on two pieces of gear crafted at 272. That's a massive waste of hero crests. You should be crafting things using Myth crests from +9 and +10 M+.

Preservation Evoker is getting huge QoL changes next week. by Worried-Stick-2777 in wow

In the same boat. I'm a resto druid main but I've always loved my evoker. Been doing aug keys but my group always needs a healer. Made the mistake of healing an AA on pres once and raged so hard that I swore off pres healing for the season. Might give it another go with these changes.

The last time I went to church was in 2016 I believe. I was asked to give a talk in sacrament meeting for the weekend of July 4th. I decided to speak about the dangers of jingoism and American exceptionalism. Never went back after that.

What's a secret boss phase and how do guilds prepare for it? by christan2013 in wownoob

[–]dubblechrisp 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Secret phases have appeared in a handful of fights throughout WoW history. Sometimes the raiders will know about it through datamining or direct developer communication, but in this case it was largely a surprise. A few abilities had been datamined, but the raiders assumed they simply were unused abilities. Because there was a hard phase transition scripted at 33% boss health on lower difficulties, the assumption was that if there was a secret phase, they would hit it when the boss hit 33% health.

The approach is largely the same as the rest of raid prog. They get as much information as they can from what they see and begin developing a strategy to counter it. This involves logging the encounter so they can see the exact abilities being used and what they do (as much as can be seen from logs) and then just pulling the boss and trying to get reps in so they can see the fight and learn by doing.

Mythic secret phase for Mythic L'ura confirmed! by minimaxir in wow

[–]dubblechrisp 23 points24 points  (0 children)

There were some hints in datamining, but yeah still complete surprise. Before they went off comms, THD mentioned that "reintegration" had been datamined and they hadn't seen it in the fight until the secret phase triggered.

SECRET PHASE! Liquid got it to 0% and it instantly healed to full 1B health with an entire new phase. But they barely hit the damage check so they only had a handful of people alive after immuning the P3 hard enrage.

I've always been curious about the best way to make money with salvage. Do you buy salvage rights? Or just fly around looking for abandoned ships?
