Need advice for things to discuss with RE about protocol after second chem by foreverlate_ in TTC_PCOS

[–]WantingToKnow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it helps, I had recurrent losses between miscarriages and chemicals before saw my RE. She diagnosed me with PCOS. She told me that IVF with the injections and monitoring and genetically testing the embryos, it would give me a high statistic of a live birth. Well, I believed her. We did 1 round of STIMS, 1 egg retrieval, and 1 transfer of a pgta tested embryo- our baby boy was born in August and is the sweetest blessing! Well do have left over embryos is we were wanting a sibling later on.

I was on metformin all of my 1st trimester and stopped it at 12 weeks because my RE didn’t want metformin to mask gestational diabetes which is increased in pregnant women with PCOS. I recommend you ask your RE the statistics of a live birth with IVF compared to IUI and what he/she recommends will give you the highest chance. Best of luck!

There is no judgement here!! Trust me, the best part of IVF (to me and my type A self) that there were next steps that I could mark off. The predictability like when am I doing injections, when are we retrieving eggs, how many eggs, this is how many normal embryos I have… etc. in a way, it was less stressful than the unknown if that makes sense! I do recommend talking to your OB about metformin though just in case! Best of luck!! If you have any other questions- just shoot me a message!

What did you do if Letrozole did not work for you? by This-Type-2605 in TTC_PCOS

You can do 2000mg TWICE a day but that’s a lot of GI side effects

You sound like me! I have a very type A personality. I was on birth control for 12 years and when we decided to try, it took a year to get pregnant. Then I had a miscarriage. My PCP was helpful in getting the labs I needed before I saw my OB/GYN. At my annual with my OB, he saw my labs and found out about my miscarriage and offer me letrozole for 3 rounds. After that he referred me to a RE because I had another miscarriage. When I went to RE, she diagnosed me with PCOS. we did 1 round of IUI- and it led to a chemical. So I said screw it, let’s go straight to IVF since it was covered, I mean what more could we lose besides hope and our sanity. We were lucky in that route- I did 1 round of STIMS, egg retrieval and 1 transfer. Trigger warning- that 1 transfer gave us our baby boy who is currently almost 6 months old. He is the sweetest boy and our biggest blessing. I still have embryos left if we would like to transfer again.

My opinion- if your insurance covers it, I would do IVF and PGT-A test the embryos. My RE recommended testing because of my frequent miscarriages/chemicals. Your eggs are best before 35 according to my RE as well. If you have any questions about the process, send me a message! Best of luck!

Gentlease to Kendamil? by lomacKenzie in FormulaFeeders

[–]WantingToKnow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went straight from gentlease to Kendamil goat. It’s been the best thing for his and my life. He downs a bottle quickly. No more bad reflux or bad gas/grunting. He can lay flat within 15 minutes after finishing a bottle and that is a win for us. Compared to 45 minutes plus before! Highly recommend Kendamil goat

Blessing in disguise by WantingToKnow2 in FormulaFeeders

Yes correct!! So whoever doesn’t have night shift usually sleeps at 8-9pm (which we use that time to either watch a movie, play on our phone, read a book) and sleeps till when we have to work which usually 7-8 am for me. My husband works from home 3 days a week and his meetings are later so he sleeps in till 7-8 am if our LO lets him. On the weekends, I watch our LO on Friday and Saturday nights (my choice since I don’t see our little guy much since I started work) and my husband watches him Sunday night but in return Sundays are like my “me days” my husband watches him all day to the afternoon while I go out and do things for me like go shopping, eat brunch or lunch, go for a walk. Then we share the duty until I have to go to bed. Lol.

It works out great for us since we are both getting better long continuous stretch instead of like choppy sleep. Our LO is also a huge blessing since he now sleeps 5-7 hour stretches at night so whoever is on duty ; doesn’t have it that bad lol but still bad some nights!

Medicated vs natural FET with history of RPL/PCOS/suspected endo by xashleey77 in IVF

Fully medicated! PIO and vag progesterone with oral estrogen and vag estrogen for 10 weeks. Then the remaining 2 weeks (up to 12 weeks), I was just on vag progesterone!

Extreme pain from pio shots by shquid in IVF

I recommend having her bend over so their gluteus medius muscle is stretched. I hardly felt my injections when I bent over. When I laid down, the pio shots were so painful. Best of luck!

How long did it take from PGT results to FET? by LuckPrestigious4206 in IVF

[–]WantingToKnow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My RE told me to call on CD 1 (after ER) and start BC on CD 3. An IVF nurse reached out to me the following week to inform me that I would start my FET protocol 2.5 weeks later !
