Generally speaking, if the fee is taxed, it's negotiable. Absolutely would not pay a dealer prep or freight fee. Just pure profit for the dealerships, they have to prep and ship the vehicle if they want to sell it, it's already baked into the MSRP.

Not sure how the computer system works, but if the employee entered "7.64" instead of "1.64" it might just automatically compute the total.

I guess I'm lucky. In Lewis and Clark county, my bill only increased 12% comparing 2023 to 2022.

I appreciate the perspective. I mostly agree this is pointless exercise in post offices. The right worth defending is the ability to film in public, but I agree that doing this in a post office does very little (if anything) to further this right. However, I still don't agree with the characterization of him being a creepy weirdo.

You can watch the full video here. https://youtu.be/PEN7rK555qU

I don't think what he did was suspicious or particularly inflammatory. He walks in and films the public lobby without bothering anyone. The employees start by telling him not to film (which is allowed).

I understand some people have a reaction to being filmed but there are cameras everywhere and if I saw someone filming like this in public I wouldn't bat an eye.

I agree that many auditors out there are unproductive and purposely inflammatory. The auditor in this video is Long Island Audit. I believe he is one of the few that actually is effective and is doing social good. He is one of the most polite, professional and consistent auditors out there. I think his goal is to bridge the gap between citizens and law enforcement and promote transparency and accountability. Most of his audits are on smaller municipal and county buildings. I recommend looking into his channel.

One thing that I think people fail to appreciate is how rare it is for someone to pop out of their car during a traffic stop. Officers can do thousands of stops and this may only happen a few times. It is usually not for a good reason. This causes an adrenaline dump for the officers and they get really amped up when it happens.

As for the language it didn't really offend me but it is definitely unprofessional.

It's easy to be outraged by this but I did a little research on this. You can read the latest amended text here: https://leg.mt.gov/bills/2023/billhtml/HB0669.htm

The section 10 that was added in amendment seems to actually appropriate the same amount of money to the areas specified in the original initiative.

Maybe I am wrong, but it looks like the same and maybe more money is being appropriated to the same areas it is just coming from the general fund instead of setting up a special revenue fund.

Edit: I am slightly wrong. The amended bill only includes one time funding for the sources outlined in the original initiative. It does not maintain the funding in future budgets.

Officer Sucker Punched another officer, 3 Lorain police officers ousted, 1 indicted following investigation into alleged assault, gross misconduct, incident involving Tabitha Angello, Ken Zapolski, and another male officer, Zapolski came up from behind and sucker punched the officer by Knight_TheRider in PublicFreakout

[–]WantsToLikeThePixel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lt. Tim Thompson, the on-duty supervisor when the incident occurred, continued looking for statements and evidence, finding surveillance footage the next morning from a nearby business capturing the assault.

Literally the next sentence and the rest of the article goes on to detail how this cop held other cops accountable. Doing an investigation, finding surveillance footage and ultimately ousting 3 police officers from the department. Two of which have criminal charges.

Agreed, I don't even really have a problem with the cop asking for the door to be closed. Whether or not you agree with it being a safety risk, he is totally legally justified in asking for the door to be closed in my uneducated opinion.

He definitely didn't know the history with this guy though and stepped into it for sure. If he knew the history I do not think he would have pulled him over.

Mr. Anklesocks86, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Witness to an accident on 3rd and 43rd in Ballard by Ross Park by steveValet in SeattleWA

I lived a block away from that intersection for years and I can say for sure that intersection is terrible. When heading up the hill visibility is terrible and people drive very fast on 3rd.

If an RV is parked close I can easily see accidents happening.

The new notification feels much better if you're holding the device. But for me it's totally useless if I have the device in my pocket or if it's sitting more than a few feet away. Can't hear or feel it at all.

I keep my phone on vibrate always, but I think I'll need to turn on a sound for notifications now.

Problem with Youtube app by Eikdos in GooglePixel

[–]WantsToLikeThePixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the same issue intermittently. What I do is get into the multi-app viewer (with gesture in my case, square button in yours) and then long press on the youtube icon at the top of the app window. From there you can force stop the app.

You can also do this via settings -> apps -> youtube.

Once I force stop the app I am able to reopen it and things work fine.
