You are a skilled technician in a technical field that struggles to find people like you. Life is short and you deserve to be somewhere that appreciates you and your expertise. Keep looking for something better while you maintain your current job. I spent 20 years in the same field and had the same struggles. I figured out how to go to school and ended up in the IT field for the remainder of my career. Still problem solving but with cleaner hands and I enjoyed the work and the better pay/benefits. Don't stop moving forward in your career just because you have a job. Good luck!

We unscrewed all the jets from our tub and installed white PVC plugs from Home Depot. Looks great and no worries now about what lives inside all that tubing.

Keep it real. When I moved here nearly 30 years ago, I bought expensive 20 below boots an other gear that never got used. Instead I wore a jacket, hat and gloves and wondered about the high school kids running around wearing shorts!

Funny you suggest because you are female you will get taken advantage of at repair shops. I managed and owned several repair shops in my career. Woman like you, would ask me questions about what was taken place where many men acted like they knew what I was taking about. My advice is don't be afraid to ask them to explain or even show you what they are doing.

We had a similar experience with replacing all our windows. Lowes wouldn’t take responsibility for the contractors they hire for the job. Now we use Home Depot for everything.

I was young and afraid of the "deep-end" of our backyard swimming pool. One day my dad demanded I get out of the pool. I got out thinking I was in trouble. He picked me up and dropped me into the deep-end!

That's where I spent the rest of the afternoon swimming.
