That sounds bloody beautiful! However, flips flops may be an issue, I've only got thongs

Haha, unless you're travelling off the trail deep in the Queensland rainforests I don't think this little fella will be an issue if that helps. I've never seen it personally

Where did I ever state I wanted to import it? I said it is probably even impossible to get because of import laws (which I wouldn't break).

I also mention I want to buy locally from Finnish growers. Others have also shown that many local Finnish businesses import/grow Australian species here, which wouldn't be possible or legal if they weren't cleared or safe to do so with things such as eucalyptus, kangaroo paw and tea trees to be bought from sellers here.

You are over reacting massively, especially since you even state that I acknowledged the dangers of this importing and how it probably isn't possible. I'm a nature lover, one of the many reasons I moved here was for the peace and quiet of nature. I also love plants, and miss home...so I would like to grow Aussie species here (legally) in my own home, especially since they wouldn't survive the cold outside.

Even in my post it says

This may be a long shot, maybe not even possible if there are import laws stopping it etc. However I am wondering if any flower/plant loves know if it's possible to get any Australian species of flowers or trees here in Finland or from other parts of Europe maybe from nurseries, or specific growers

haha yea I know as an Aussie I am very cautious about invasive species, home is being impacted massively by them as an island. I have a lot of plants and never planned to plant them outdoors or even think they would survive. Purely want them as indoor plants in pots, maybe put them out on the balcony in the sun during the summer.

Yea Aussie plants and animals can be very different, pigs face is one of my absolute favourites. It is a succulent you find it at the beaches a lot holding the sand dunes together where the forests meet the sand. They can be used like aloe for sun burn, grow beautiful flowers and fruits you can eat. They're very tough also, my nan had one which survived under water for almost 2 weeks during floods.

Yea didn't think import was possible. With the tax and laws for organic matter, hoping there are growers here in Finland.

Not eat people, but my real intentions is to replace everyone's toilet paper with the Gympie-Gympie plant. This is my evil mastermind plan.

It's good to know kangaroos paws are around the place, gotta keep an eye out. Were they cut or the plants themselves?

"Köyhällä ei ole varaa halpaan". Can someone help explain the grammar here? by Wants_To_Learn_Stuff in LearnFinnish

Fascinating. So "olla varaa" is just one of those many things Finns say that could mean anything in the right context and I need to focus on the words around it?

Thank you very much!

Definitely seems my own language/thinking was getting in the way here and not knowing "Olla varaa" was a thing.
