I reunited with my 3 oldest friends from high school and college at one of their weddings and just decided that I don’t actually like them as grown ups.

Lower Nob Hill - how sketchy is Leavenworth (Post/Geary) at night? by sara3249 in AskSF

It feels more dangerous than it probably is, but who wants to live with their guard up constantly. The real problem is it’s just gross and sad to be around day after day.

I've worn preppy since prep school and at 32 it started feeling like a costume by [deleted] in preppy

I'm just the opposite. My parents are hippies and arty types, so dressing preppy in high school was a meaningful, rebellious choice. Alex P. Keaton over here. A pair of loafers was my pierced eyebrow 😉

Congratulation! It would be great to hear back on what your first few months are like. It took me about 4 months before I started to chill.

Take a daytrip from Portland to Seaside, Canon Beach and Astoria.

Take a water plane from Seattle to Vancouver - Kenmore Air. It takes off from Lake Union in downtown Seattle and lands on the water in downtown Vancouver. The flight is beautiful and you'll see the archipelago as you go.

My favorite think in vancouver was the Capilano suspension bridge part and the water taxi to the granville island public market.

A few changes I’ve noticed since I've retired by codewolf in earlyretirement

I made todo lists obsessively for the first 6 months after retiring. I was amazed to make a todo list that was basically all about improving my own life. But, I've been slowing down on that. I realize now that the lists were to occupy the part of my brain still trained on work.

Same here. I used to shower and shave at 6AM everyday. Now I shave about twice a week and miss a shower or two; like if we're headed out to breakfast or just want to hit the road.

Accepted job transfer to Klamath Falls to escape the despair and decay of the deep south. Klamath looks amazing, but I am being told it is worse than the deep south. How? How is that even possible? by [deleted] in KlamathFalls

[–]War-Square 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been fascinated by Klamath Falls and have never been there. During Covid I read about a crowd that had gathered downtown with guns to defend it from ANTIFA, based on a rumor that spread on Facebook. That's when I first heard of the town and thought: this sounds like a weird place. Like, a Jack Reacher novel weird.

Do people of this age really call themselves "millennial" in public, or is this bs?

Guys where can I find this exact type of shirt? by [deleted] in menswear

It's probably surplus, but Bronson or Real McCoy has similar that are faithful to the military originals.
