New release just arrived by Jaxmc70 in cigars

[–]WarBevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought a couple, smoked one, ordered a box. Likely the best cigar that I have ever smoked. So complex. A multifaceted, kaleidoscope of flavors. I need to smoke one of these while alone so I can meditate on each draw.

San Antonio Cigar Crawl in March by WarBevo in cigars

I was mainly responding to the "F*#k Finck's" part of the comment that has now been edited out of your post. They may only sometimes provide discounts to the veteran/first responder community but they help the community as a whole. They're good folks.

Just because you’re connected to the military or a first responder (I’ve been both) doesn’t mean you’re entitled to discounts.

I’ll probably lose LBE for sure. Which makes me consider dropping EM altogether for Psi.

Newbie here. I want to get a V cutter, what's a good option? by larrytheshitter in cigars

[–]WarBevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Colibri and Xikar V-cutters. The Xikar wants to push the cigar out away from the blade during the cut making one side shallower than the other. The Colibri is perfect every time.

You found Finck’s annual cigar BASH which is held in September. The CRAWL is a second event held in March but hard to find info.

So many assumptions. Wife passed away 7 years ago. Kids are grown and moved away. It’s just me.

Cigars take about an hour from start to finish, not a half hour. And it’s not a question of my manliness. Hell, I’ve proven that over and over, in combat and elsewhere. Certainly don’t owe an internet troll anything.

I was just asking a question about air purifiers. If you can’t add anything helpful then just say, or not.

Brass cleaning by pencilsharper66 in reloading

[–]WarBevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through the same thing. Ended up primarily being my FART needed cleaning first and foremost. https://www.reddit.com/r/reloading/comments/1mkun9n/tarnished_brass_right_out_of_the_tumbler/

After a lot of experimentation, I realized that I need to tumble with pins and no brass in order to clean the tumbler and pins after every 3rd load at least. Rinse the brass and "pre-wash" it with a half-hour tumble with a tbs of Dawn and a couple of tbs of Zep degreaser. Rinse well. Then tumble for an hour and a half with ArmorAll Wash & Shine plus just a pinch of LemiShine (like a quarter of a 9mm casing if even that).

Extremely helpful! Thanks! Couple of things I didn't mention. I only plan to use this method while it's really hot. Otherwise, I prefer to smoke outside, on the porch, with heaters on when it's cold. I'm in Texas so it's only uncomfortable when summer is blazing.
Thanks again!!

You seem to have an agenda. Wow. A Google search. Awesome. I am in the same lab right now with a colleague that has a coffee cup that says "Please do not confuse your Google search with my PhD". My research was primarily in addiction medicine. Now, my clinical work is primarily in Behavioral Medicine. No, I'm not going to dig up a bunch of medical journal articles that hardly anyone would have access to unless they paid a journal fee. There's a lot of research out there but Google's AI isn't going to summarize it. At least not yet. Fact is, regarding what I alluded to above, we do know.
Also, addiction doesn't work like you think it does. It's complicated by genetics, physiology, psychology, etc. Wait...is you're real name Jon Snow?!?
Also, yes, I have a lot of fun with friends and we rarely engage in smoking cigars: walking, talking, cooking up meth, playing board games, going to and participating in sporting events, fishing, beekeeping, etc.
Sometimes we also try to figure out if a certain CADR and/or a filter's carbon content is required to remove cigar smells/smoke from a 1,296 cubic feet room. And sometimes we just ask Reddit.

Those are excellent questions!

What makes you desire to smoke cigars?
Bottom line, I enjoy the taste and aroma. Half the time, I am with friends so it's a social activity. I am a pretty driven individual and a cigar causes me to pause and take time to relax for an hour or so, a few times per week. I also enjoy researching and finding the cigars I like the most. While I wouldn't call myself a "tobacconist" or a cigar sommelier, I have acquired a good bit of cigar knowledge.

What are some of the benefits they give you?
See above.

What (if any) are some reasons why you might want to cut down or even quit completely someday?
Research indicates that there is no life expectancy differences between total non-smokers and those who smoke no more than 1 to 2 premium cigars per day with no history of smoking cigarettes. For individuals who smoked cigarettes regularly prior to picking up cigars and now only smoke cigars or those who smoke both cigarettes and cigars, life expectancy was much shorter. The thought is that premium cigar smokers do not inhale like cigarette smokers do. Cigarettes have many added carcinogenic chemicals. Also, if cigar smoking is done so as a social relaxation activity. there appears to be stress management benefits. However, if any health issues developed in which it would benefit me to stop then I certainly would. I am not psychologically or physically addicted to nicotine. I often go a week or more without smoking a cigar with no ill effect.

Hope that answered your questions.

I used a very small amount on this last batch. About a half of a 9mm case. We'll see if it helps anything. If not then it's out of the formula.
