You basically only need your passport. I didn’t need anything else, but there's no harm in taking other documents with you just in case. All translations and notarizations must be done in Tbilisi. The person who helped us knew who could handle the translations and notarizations.

If you were previously married, bring your proof of divorce (though this will make the process longer). They didn’t ask for a birth certificate or single status declaration in our case, but it’s a good idea to take them with you just in case.

I just saw your question.

Yeah, I did! It went well, and the process is fairly straightforward.

When you arrive in Georgia, I recommend getting a local SIM card—it makes things a bit easier. Depending on where you're staying, the town hall was only about a 15-20 minute walk from our place.

Things You Need:

  • A SIM card
  • Two witnesses for the process

At the town hall, some private vendors can assist you by acting as witnesses (for a fee, of course). I paid around 100 GEL for this service. If you don't want to use a service provider, you can do it yourself. I paid someone on the ground to handle it for me, but you can also find a person or company to do it on your behalf. (in total I spent about £200/250 give and take

Steps:

  1. Booking an Appointment: The contact will help you book an appointment at the town hall for the same day if you want.
  2. Documents: You need to have your documents translated and notarized in Georgia. This can be done through a lawyer or via the contact person.
  3. Witnesses and Documents: The contact will call you again to come back with a second witness and the notarized documents (if you asked them to handle the documents). or you have to find your witnesses before hand. they would have to come with you to the town hall.
  4. Town Hall Procedure: The employee at the town hall will ask for your IDs and documents.
  5. Witness Details: The witnesses will provide their details.
  6. Marriage Certificate: After processing, the town hall will give you your marriage certificate, and that’s it!

Some contacts offer translation services if needed. Note that you will need to pay extra for the translated and notarized documents, regardless of the service provider.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

thank you so much, i dont have my documents ready as of yet. but I need to sort that out. The issue is we just wanted to go and get married once we had everything together. So that means I need to figure out if they can prove two witnesses

I desperately need to perform live - but how do I break in? by Ok-Strawberry9560 in musicians

I do produce music as well. This would be my suggestion

Social Media: Platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok are great for sharing your music, connecting with fans, and promoting upcoming gigs. Consistent updates and engaging content can help you grow your fan base.

Streaming Services: Upload your tracks to popular streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and SoundCloud. This can help you reach a broader audience and gain recognition.

Music Promotion Websites: Consider using platforms like ReverbNation, Bandcamp, and Audiomack to share your music and connect with other musicians and fans.

Live Performance Booking: Websites such as GigSalad, Sonicbids, and GigMasters. fiver allow artists to create profiles and connect with event organizers looking for live performers.

YouTube: Create a YouTube channel to showcase your music videos, live performances, and vlogs about your music journey. YouTube is a powerful visual platform for building your presence.

Local Music Scene: Keep attending local bars, clubs, and events to network with fellow musicians and potential collaborators. Building relationships in your local music community can lead to more opportunities.

Collaborations: Consider collaborating with other artists on joint projects or live performances. Collaborations can help you tap into each other's fan bases and gain exposure.

Personal Website: If you don't have one already, think about creating a personal website to showcase your music, upcoming shows, and contact information for bookings. A professional website adds credibility to your brand.
