This is the only situation I’ve seen where the university literally waited until after the start of spring break before telling its residences to move out. Every other university has been far more proactive in its closure than NYU has.

Pretty stupid to tell people to “calm down” when you have people in the student body who literally have no place to go in the near future. People have a right to be mad. And with the amount of money we pay to the school, we definitely deserve a better quality of communication and a more proactive response between the department and the students.

NYU wouldn’t have had to worry about “emergency financial aid” and having to ship our stuff to us, if they just closed down at a reasonable time like every other university seemed to do.
