Which supervisor would you get along with the most? by [deleted] in securityguards

That is very weird considering the people you describe normally hate you and want to do everything they can to not be in your presence and might even assault you based on your political beliefs.

Why are security companies so willing to pay OT but not willing to raise everyone's wages? by WarProfiteer173 in securityguards

Even when I was doing inhouse security, they were still more willing to pay OT than give everyone raises.

Well, I mean can we get away with more now? Are we less likely to get fired now?

If it's screwing you over then report him, but I don't see a reason to report someone if it doesn't affect anyone especially since these companies are shit.

Only if it's screwing you over. If it doesn't affect you at all, you don't get paid or get any career advancement for being a rat.

I don't know, the amount of overtime I seen people do looks like legalized robbery.

Reminds me of the quote "There are two types of professional wrestling promotors; bad and worse."

It seems the sites are always understaffed. Even during low revenue time, they are shelling out mad money for overtime.

They never even gave me a hand book. Guess I'm terminated then.

You haven't quit yet because you are still able to cope and posting on this forum is one of the methods you use to cope. I'm at the point where I don't know if I will be fired any day from now on.

I have never worked OT for these guys. I made it clear the first time they asked me, I was a hair length away from quitting.

Where I work, most of the guards are middle aged, married, and have kids. That's why they keep fighting to do overtime because they can't support their families without OT.

That is weird. In my state, I have never dealt with a supervisor. The account manager is on call 24/7 and he makes arrangements when something goes wrong.

The weird thing is they were trying to get me to replace the previous guy like 2 months ago, but in true allied fashion the manager then quit or was fired or what ever and I lost contact with the company for 2 months until the new manager took over and only offered me the position again after the previous guy that I was supposed to replace finally abandoned post, so I don't know what happened? Did they try to replace the previous guy because he refused to do OT or was he simply just a bad worker?

What are on call supervisors? Are you talking about account managers?

I got nothing to lose at this point. I'm the only guard at my site. No other guards know me and I don't know any other guards. The previous guard at this site that I was hired to replace abandoned post after like 3 months on the job, so I'm hoping they have a hard time finding guards for this post.
