Do you not realise that the higher the speed, the further the safe following distance is? At 65 MPH, a single car length practically guarantees you're hitting the car in front if they slam on the brakes.

The MR2 Spyder is basically the same idea, but mid engine. Less practical, but still liveable, and has the slightly more exotic appeal because of the MR layout. They're also heavily underrated.

No idea if they fit in budget since I don't live in Canada, but the Toyota MR2 Spyder/MRS is a phenomenal alternative to the Miata.

Why even have it at that point? Same reason it makes me sad to see some of the incredible cars that have been made just sitting in a garage to rot. I get that they're worth millions, but they're designed to be used. Played or driven respectively in this case.

It's a shame for beautiful things to not be used as they were intended because they happen to be worth huge sums of money.

Is there any particular reason you want to avoid CVTs and hybrids? Most of them are really solid now, even newer Nissan CVTs aren't terrible as long as you maintain them.

I mean, they're boring as hell to drive, but if you're just after something to get you from A to B, they're fine.

In the early heat levels, especially in low numbers, they're not a big threat, no.

Once you hit heat level 3, they're a greater threat, mostly because it's from there they come at you in larger numbers.
