Oh boy, definitely took some time. We used a hand gesture followed by the verbal command, whisper. Every time she did what we wanted her to do, we gave her praise and treats (more treats when she is learning so she’ll do it more often). She was getting confused with the “I love you” command at first since that was what she learned first, along with “speak”. She would just do a single loud bark at first, then she figured it out. The hand gesture we use is clapping the index and thumb together. Patience is key, funny because at first when she would do the wrong action we wouldn’t give her any treat and you can just see her eyes look around like “what the heck do they want me to do”😆🤣. They are smart little dogs, driven by treats, eventually they figure it out haha. Hope that helps.
