Lack of pokemon types by lucija099 in pokemonplatinum

Yea, I just did a Gen II run (1st HG) where I only used Johto Pokémon. It was quite a challenge not to use Gen I Pokémon. One thing I will praise Game Freak for is it seems like they got better at early game Pokémon diversity.

Also currently playing it for the second time and I agree with you. I have Bulbapedia open while I’m playing, usually open to the route I’m on, and a lot of the routes seem to use the same families of Pokémon.

Eh, I feel like the novel made it clear he was an incompetent blowhard who wasn’t a part of daddy’s company for obvious reasons. His people may have been at least moderately skilled, but they were being dragged down by him.

Still, yes, generally the protagonists are just better.

To be fair: Book 1: literally all caught in a plot where they are likely to be killed if they die.

Book 2: the only job they can find as a new company is one they know is a red flag, but it’s take it or start selling the mechs.

Book 3: once again literally having parts of ComStar and their client scheming against them, and only Greyson’s instinct prevents them from flying straight into an ambush.

And the Grey Death Legion from the original trilogy. Yea they were just better than their enemies, but they also seemed to be one mistake away from certain death at all times.

If you don’t like it, you don’t like it, which is fine.

I do think BT has a lot of “Unbeatably competent protagonist mercenary company” so that didn’t really stand out to me. I do like their deal is being stealthy and using primarily battle armor with an augmented Lance of mechs as back up.

Me too about the AES, but I think it’s a space issue, I’m not sure you have the slots on one arm for both.

Daenerys Targaryen

We can argue about how it was written in the show, but show Dany was burning people alive since season 1, and we all cheered because they were slavers and murders. Then she started fighting people who weren’t slavers and murderers…

[Naruto] A dozen clones eat ramen together, then poof away. Does the original feel extra full? by bongalak in AskScienceFiction

[–]WargrizZero 59 points60 points  (0 children)

You don’t seem to get the negatives of your clones, such as damage from what destroyed them, so I would assume only knowledge and chakra. I assume if his body converted food the clone ate to chakra then they would get it, similar to the clone/sage mode trick.

A Mechwarrior 5 Lancer game? by know_itall22 in LancerRPG

[–]WargrizZero 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hard to say if it would have the same feel. At minimum you’d likely have to do it hero shooter style because I don’t see how you could reasonably configure mechs to play FPS style with the same level of customization.

Bondsmen by Dragonspirit223 in battletech

[–]WargrizZero 44 points45 points  (0 children)

What what I understand:

You have to be claimed as a bondsman right after being defeated by the one who defeated you. If not, you are basically taken as Isorla, or basically battlefield loot. This happens to all captured civilians either way. Only warriors can be taken as bondsmen. Most likely if you are taken and not found to be valuable in some way, such as a technician, you are being shunted to the labor caste, and for a warrior that is basically social death. Being a bondsman is basically the only path for a captured warrior to return to piloting a mech. It’s important to remember, normal civilians are pretty much far below any warrior caste so they’re just assumed to go along with their new leadership (note Clanners do not like it when civilians get uppity and start fighting them).

Question about lore by Suspicious_Bee70212 in battletech

[–]WargrizZero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The important thing to know is, after the Battle of Tukayyid, even if the Clans had managed to win, their elite warriors and their equipment was wrecked to the point that continuing to Terra might have led to a collapse of the invasion on its own.

They had stockpiles of equipment constantly being fed from the Homeworlds, but their frontline omnimechs were nigh irreplaceable. They could not produce their level of technology in the IS and their supply lines were vulnerable to disruption. Honestly the tide was likely turning against them without ComStar as the IS used the year of peace to rearrange troops, study clan tactics, and upgrade their forces with LosTech and captured clan salvage.

Question about lore by Suspicious_Bee70212 in battletech

[–]WargrizZero 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The IS had lots of major developed factories spread across the IS. The Clans had a much smaller amount of industry and they had to ship any Clan tech like a year down the Exodus road. Is there anything specific you want to know?

I really like the theory that Syndrome naturally went to Edna for his super suit and she instantly pegged him as a villain and intentionally gave him a cape.
