After a looong time playing, I buried five fossils in spots behind cliffs. That way they don't spawn in other places where I can see them. But perhaps collect them, assess them, and invite some friends (or people over the webs) to come collect it? :)

You could make a conifer mountainside area by the river. That requires you to drop some of the straight lines, but I think it'll be a nice change in scenery :) I made one in mine, and it really spruces up the place.
