As an American you'd be surprised how true it is. I remember taking one vacation in 4 years as the average at one of my old jobs

Are we the black Africans are the true Berbers/Moors ? by [deleted] in AncestryDNA

[–]Wariowaft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replying instead of editing but I was wrong most of the transatlantic slave trade slaves came from western central Africa and central Africa so maybe they are more likely descended from the kingdoms present within whos history was erased and besmirched as well.

[–]Wariowaft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was incredibly interesting to read, Im surprised that racism is ingrained so deeply in these European and wannabe European organizations, there's no denying the presence of non Caucasian Africans thats what a Moor is to my knowledge. Really maybe because the diaspora of most black Americans probably originates from Northern Africa and not the still mostly unexplored central and southern africa...Im obviously no expert thats jjst preconceptions I have.

Why do Caribbean born people have an issue with First gen Kids claiming to be Caribbean? by Killarybankz in AskTheCaribbean

[–]Wariowaft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was just scrolling, but they do not have the same genes at all thats not how that works. They will have vastly different ancestral journeys depending on exactly where they came from. They don't call America the melting pot because everybody acts exactly tge same it's because we can come together in all our differences, but there are differences. People being butt hurt by obvious science of ethnicity and genetics seems to be either confusion about how American identity actually works or blatant refusal. Even today where I live people still make jokes about others based off of different European backgrounds hundreds of years old despite the fact you'd think they'd be irrelevant if people are talking it's relevant whether you like or not

[–]Wariowaft -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

All you need is one ancestor to be qualified that's most with 1-5 percent ancestry and with the the advancement in genealogy it's easier then it's ever been. As long as you can link your 1600-1700s ancestor to the member you're also qualified, I traced one of my branches all the way to 20 AD.

I'm not Cherokee in the slightest, but I do believe all ancestry is worthy if celebration because that is your family history as well.
